Remarkable that the ancient Hindu rituals and practices are preserved here. It stands testimony to the ability of Hinduism to survive the onslaught of conversions and changes that pass of time brings about. The rituals here give you a bird's eye view how a simple way of worship of nature evolved to the present form thanks to the very powerful presiding deity. Any one visiting the temple with devotion will stand to benefit immensely.

On our way to ernakulam from guruvayur by bus we got down in kodungallur enroute to have dharshan in this temple. Bus stops bang opposite the temple, there is a cloak room in the entrance where we left our luggage. The time was around 11noon the temple was kept closed for around half an hour and there was a big queue. On opening in 15 minutes we had good and peaceful dharshan. Reached ernakulam again taking the bus from the temple stopping. It was hasslefree except for the strong sun.

The temple is located in Kodungallur of Thrissur District of Kerala. Rather the town is built around the temple. There is a huge area around the temple which caters to various activities regularly and special activities during festival seasons. This also works as a green area inside the town.
