Simple place

It's a monolith park in Nartiang. It's a bit far and if you go to see only this then doesn't make sense. Combine or do it on the way. It's a very small place. Does have parking.

the most unique location I have ever seen
May 2019
This place attracted e the moment i saw it on google. It has a history behind. While the information board and many locals here say that each monolith marks a particular event or individual, some others believe in the legend of the king and the old woman. The monoliths in Jowai were erected to mark the reign of the erstwhile Jantia kings. Monoliths are upright structures carved from one single stone that serve as a monument or pillar.

The place looks stunning caped with greenery every where. Watch all the details on my youtube channel "Khushi NotOnlyMakeup" check playlist- "Meghalaya with Khushi"

A beautiful Site
Dec 2018
Nartiang Monoliths are beautiful monoliths erected by erstwhile kings after their victory in a battle. The tallest monolith is about 8 mtrs high. A small park full of monoliths. While visiting Meghalaya one must make it a point to visit this place.

Strange boulders n formations
Oct 2018 • Family
It's obvious that it must have some religious significance but looking at the sight itself create a lot of imaginative views. Boulders are really very big to appear there and shows the strength of people who would have put them.

Interesting rocks, scenic location
Dec 2017 • Family
There are many huge rocks here. There is a small plaque explaining the legend that rocks were brought here by a giant. It would be good to have more explanation. Overall a nice stop on the way from Jowai to Shillong. Roads are very good.

India’s Stonehenge
Dec 2017 • Couples
I have marked this as average only because there is absolutely no information at the site explaining what you are looking at and giving a clue as to why the monoliths are there and their purpose.

Site was a bit overgrown and has lots and lots of standing stones.
