We had planned for Mekedatu on Aug 18, 2018, from Bangalore. Some 30kms before Mekedatu, we saw notice board on the road by Kanapura Police that "Due to High Inflow of Cauvery Water Public Entry is restricted to Sangam & Mekedatu

Boating..I didn't see any boats while I was there. Swimming depends upon water level. But yes you have a camp site near where you can camp for a night.
