CHAOTIC-
I went to the Komani Lake for ferry ride. Didn't book my ferry in advance so I went early to try my luck. Waiting for an hour in the queue until every car to arrive then we got our space luckily. It was such a crazy chaos at the port. Everyone was trying to get through the tunnel and jammed at the port which is not enough for cars to do anything like U turn nor drive forward. There was an old guy walking along all the cars asking for €2 for tunnel fee which isn't mentioned before entering the tunnel. Many cars booked their ferry ride but stuck in the tunnel which they cant make it to their boarding. The ferries were supposed to depart at 9am but took almost one hour to go. Let along all those tourists trying to walk through to small fishing boat when you were struggling moving your car in tiny space. I guess it's just their everyday life but they could have done something to make this more efficient. for example, they should let every car wait outside of tunnel, and enter according to their booking reference, then give the rest of cars standby reference number so not every jamming in the tunnel which is very dangerous actually.

RIP OFF-
We got on the ferry by standby so we couldnt choose if its Rozafa or Berisha, Berisha I checked online they have transparent fixed price. But I couldn't find any info about Rozafa ferry at all. Rozafa ferry gave us one space at the end and after boarding staff asked for 9000lek which is €75, which is almost double what we should pay. After the boarding hassle we basically have to move every cars to get off the ferry so we paid anyway to avoid further hassle. And they know we won't come back again. Maybe I should feel grateful but it's more like a rip off in my eyes.

WAY TOO LONG-
It's definitely a very beautiful place but to be honest, 3hours ferry one way is way too long, people on the ferry were excited for a bit but then all fell asleep after. Instead of a tourist spot I'd say get ready its more like a serious transportation of 3 hours with a beautiful view. Our ferry Rozafa only sells cold snacks which isnt that exciting.

First of all: DO NOT GO THERE!! There is no parking (just pure chaos and agression of local drivers), you then have to walk through a hot and dirty tunnel where you almost suffocate because of the exhaust fumes, the harbor is overflowing with trash (and it smells terrible), the boats are motor boats with incredibly loud party music (hip hop), the "guides" do not speak a word but smoke and drop their cigarettes in the lake and the lake itself is an environmental disaster because it is FULL of plastic and trash (a horrific scene accompanied in a surreal and disturbing way by the party music). You may consider taking the ferry instead of a "private boat tour" but it will still be hard to look away from the ruined and trashed nature around you. If you go there you support the people who trash it because the boat companies don't give a s***. We are so sorry we came because we didn't know better because so many reviews were so positive and SO WRONG.

This is a stunning place and it was wonderful to visit, however someone in the community need to take ownership of the horrific plastic situation. As the ferry makes it way through the water you see literally thousands of plastic pieces. It's becoming a giant dumpster. Please someone in the community connected to this wonderful lake, or the ferry company, needs to take ownership and clean up the lake and make sure no more plastic gets into it. If all travellers can leave similar reviews to this one and highlighting the issue, hopefully this awesome spot in awesome Albania can be clean again.

Departure from Shkodra around 730, after about 50 minutes of road begins the most ruined but easily practicable piece we went with a 2008 and we had no problems and arrived just before 9 am at destination.
Arrived near the lakes you will have the opportunity to choose with whom to make the tour, leave your car in the large parking lots before the tunnel, will be the boat companies to take you to the port.
The boat takes about 1 hour before arriving at the beach after which you will have until about 330 to enjoy the view and the blue waters of the lake.
The beach is equipped with bars restaurants sunbeds and umbrellas (10 leke) at affordable prices. In my opinion one of the best experiences to do in the North even better if you can arrange to sleep one night in the accommodation facilities on the lake.

The lake is very beautiful, it reminds me of Phi Phi Islands in Thailand and Konigssee in Bavaria Germany. It is a pity that in some parts there are many plastic bottles on the water. I wish there would be some action to pick it up, maybe with large fish net it could work. The travel time of 2.5 hours is quite long to be honest. You need to explore and go around the ferry to find good photo and video spots. It was fuller than I expected. All the guests are basically tourists. It seems local people do not use this type of transportation. After you get to the harbour in Koman, there is still long drive in road in very bad condition but with scenic views. Ferry price 8 euros one way for one person.

we made a round trip from Skodra by bus before taking the ferry on this lake recommended in all guides. What a disappointment!!!! The 2 hours of crossing are done standing, tight on each other. And what about this lake.... A waste!!!! It is impossible to enjoy the “fjords” because the water is littered with garbage. When we got back on the boat we were at the back and every time we went to the passenger toilet we watched toilet paper and the rest in the middle of this lake.

Easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Bright neon turquoise water is surrounded by beautiful green mountain slopes and jagged rock cliffs. We took the ferry to Blini Park to stay at Bee Eco and stopped on the mountainside for a while to get a few things delivered by donkey to our boat. I thought it was really charming and fun. Bring a rain jacket, it can get windy and wet. Totally worth the trip, it's unforgettable.

On our way to Valbone valley we took the ferry on Koman lake up to Fierze. We book the 1200 ferry. it was a breathtaking sail (~2hr). The views are breathtaking. The water itself in some portion is polluted with plastic and garbage, but it is not disturbing the beauty, just increase the sadness for lake of awareness.
On way back from Valbone Valley, we drove the scenic road SH22, which provide great views of the winding Drini river. It is a long drive ~ 100km but one of the most scenic routs I drove.

Albania is a beautiful diverse country and today we caught the ferry To Fierze on Lake Komani. The chaos in the tunnel to get on the ferry was unbelievable. People driving their vans and just leaving them so no-one could get through. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Finally got our car on and found a spot to stand for the 2 and half hour trip. The ferry was packed no seats left. However after the chaos at the start the views were amazing and the changing scenery worth every minute. However the Albanians need to stop littering their beautiful country. The lake was littered with plastic bottles and domestic garbage. This country has so much potentials as a leading tourism destination and the Albanians need to look after their land

Must visit in Albania. The road from Shkoder to komani lake takes about 2 and half hours due to the difficult ascending ,descending narrow mountain road.. At Marina we took the covered motor boat for a long journey in the lake for 1 and half hours and arrived at a stone beach. Water is too cold but we find many people enjoy swimming in the lake.. a Zip line was safe and good .. restaurants serving mostly fish with relatively higher prices... kayaking is safe too. ...after Lunch we got the boat back in the same way to the bus and back to shkoder.. Tips: take a swimming suit and swimming shoes
