Komani is the Asian (Thailand) part of Europe! The nature is overwhelming! The place is quite hard to reach as u go via a bus that drives through narrow streets at steep hills but it is worth the adventure ❤️the boat trip is very refreshing along with the mesmerizing views of the mountains 🏔 covered by green areas very pleasing to the eyes ! Once u arrive ,u will find restaurants with an average quality food , water activities ,zip linning that is gorgeous and safe for kids ! Also u can swim although the water was a bit cold there! Overall it was a great trip and u must go to it if u ever visited Albania 🇦🇱

    Stunning views on the lake
Left the hotel in Tirana for the journey to Konami lake. We decided to go to the north of the lake at Fierza and do a one way ferry to Komani in the south on the ferry. The road upto Fierza was fine which was a paved road all the way and we got there in plenty time for the car ferry. There is a snack bar there whilst you wait to board, boarding the ferry is chaotic and it was crammed. You set sail and the next couple of hours are breathtaking as the views are magnificent, its views rival the Scandinavian countries. Rubbish as we found in Albania is all over the place, and there was no exception here with plastic bottles floating around offline. Got to the south side at komani and again it was chaos trying to get off the ferry as the port side was full of cars waiting to board. As many people have said the road at this end is terrible, as being unpaved for many miles, we had a little hire car that coped with it ok but very slowly.

    Discover Komani Lake
Hi. We are two friends from Ireland and have just spent the most glorious 2 days with Hil from Discover Komani Lake based in Shkoder. From our first contact by email Hil has been amazing, taking us on a trip of a lifetime to Komani Lake. Such beauty! Hil took care of everything - driving us there and remaining with us for the entire day and getting us home tired but safe. As if that wasn’t enough he stepped in to take us to Theth the following day, where he joined us on the hike to the Blue Eye. Another wonderful day and amazing views made all the better by Hil’s company. He went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly, he took joy in our adventure and by the end of the trip we were friends. I’m so grateful to him too for taking particular care of me over some rough terrain. If you are coming to Shkodër don’t look any further than Discover Komani Lake to make your trip as special as ours. Joan & Tricia.

Not one, not two, but hundreds and thousands plastic bottles are floating all over one of the most beautiful lakes in the word. What a horrible experience to see!! Why is the Berisha family not doing anything to clean this? Every day they make money with the tourists, by organising trips and building resorts in the mountains, but don't do anything to clean this mess?? One story says: the tourists are doing this. The other story: the Albanians throw all the trash in the rivers. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! STOP THE TRASH AND CLEAN IT!

The lake is very beautiful, it reminds me of Phi Phi Islands in Thailand and Konigssee in Bavaria Germany. It is a pity that in some parts there are many plastic bottles on the water. I wish there would be some action to pick it up, maybe with large fish net it could work. The travel time of 2.5 hours is quite long to be honest. You need to explore and go around the ferry to find good photo and video spots. It was fuller than I expected. All the guests are basically tourists. It seems local people do not use this type of transportation. After you get to the harbour in Koman, there is still long drive in road in very bad condition but with scenic views. Ferry price 8 euros one way for one person.
