Lovely place. Once we reached the monastry it started snowing which looked just wow. Great place to have a days bike trip from Leh. Must visit.

It is perhaps the oldest monastry in leh known for the artifacts and other monk stuff. They are closed for lunch so avoid going that time 2 to 3

One cannot say to have seen what a monastery in ladak is without Lamayur. The landscape makes it a unique place in the world. Best tour from Leh is with motorbike. Safe and easy road.

Must visit for those interested in History. Unique monastry and the moonland scapes are the two major attractions. Staff of the monastry are very helpful and it's a really pleasant place to be.

Beside the famous moonland and gompa, Lamayuru is also the starting point of treks to Chilling and Padum. The beginning of a these trek is also beautiful walk for a day (couple of hours to a full day)
