Small but vigorous

The height of the fall is much smaller but the force of the water and quantity is enough to scare you but need not to worry as you or your family are safe by a wall beyond which you can't proceed.

Water fall
Aug 2018 • Friends
Only here you can see water fall and nothing more choose Sonamarag instead of Ahrbal waterfall, Sonamarag distance is more thn Ahrbal from center of city...
So if you want trip cool locations in kashmir, remove Ahrbal from list.

I requested my tour guide to take me here. From the entrance it looks like you can not see waterfall but when you get close to the gorges you feel excited to get closer.

I visited the waterfall in the summer so I stop to buy and ate ice-cream before going inside the gate. The amount of the water is powerful.

Once needs to be careful to go close to the waterfall beyond the fetch. I cannot describe must here so do visit and see with your own eyes. You will not be disappointed.

By the way beyond this waterfall there is one gigantic alpine lake called Kounsarnag. I wanted to go there but it will be very costly as I am a solo traveler.

Aharbal Waterfall

Aharabal also known as "Niagara Falls" of Kashmir is a hill station in the south-western part of Kashmir Valley in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, 75 km south of the state capital Srinagar.
Aharbal lies in the Kulgam district's Noorabad Area[2] of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located on the Veshu River, a tributary of the Jehlum River, in an alpine valley covered in pine and fir trees within the Pir Panjal mountains, 18 km It lies at an altitude of 2266 metres above sea level.
I strongly recommend everyone should visit this awesome place.

My friends from Vizag visited my Kashmir. Being a local from Kulgam they didn't have info about Aharbal Waterfall. After visiting pahalgam gulmarg etc they visited here. It is there line ""Sir This place i.e, Aharbal Water"" is far better than we saw in Kashmir. Being newly developed it is the best place to visit in South Kashmir after Pahalgam.

Aharbal - Kashmiri Version of the Niagara falls
Jun 2016
Travel over scenic Shopian with the majestic Pir Panjal Range and the siren river at the background to reach Aharbal leaving the Mughal road where the Veshu river, a tributary of Jhelum falls noisily 25 metres.

The place is scenic with Greenery all around, the waterfall mighty and Pir Panjal range at the background.. have to do a steep descent to view the fall in its full glory.. You can have a nice Kashmiri meal in the JKTDC restaurant and start back for Srinagar..
