It Great was to end your tour of the gardens by getting to visit Monet's house.

You really get to see his personality through each room and all the colours. Great little space to walk through and visit. My favourite rooms were the dinning room and kitchen.

We had been looking forward to visiting Claude Monet's house on our trip to France, what a disappointment....

The garden are lovely and the house holds treasures but the organisation is appalling, we need ot have bought our tickets as everyone was just walking straight in unchecked. The gardens are chained off in areas where you shouldn't walk for a good reason but on no if your Chinese just move the chain and walk over the garden to take a selfie!!!! No one challenged them for this behaviour or even noticed.

Far to many people where in at one time even thought we got there at opening time we alas where still behind multiple coaches of orientals who where not interested in this historic house & gardens just taking the selfies....

This need to be better managed as genuine art enthusiasts will stop coming ...may as well have just opened a McDonalds in the grounds and be done with it.

Unfortunately you can only visit the gardens at Giverny either from 9.30-1.30 or 1.30 til close . The gardens & water lily ponds are lovely & the house is very interesting. The place ,however, does get full of visitors & this can spoil the visit.

It was really interesting to see where, and how Monet lived. There is an amazing collection of art in the house (not just his own work). For the art collection alone it's worth having a look around.

To learn more about Monet and to appreciate his life as an artist this is the place to go. It has been meticulously preserved and not only shares Monet's taste for decorating it also highlights his interest in using pastel colors everywhere, It can get a bit crowded but the people move thorough and photo opportunities abound.

What can I say? This is a charming little Chambre d’hôte and the house were Claude Monet lived for three years of his life with his first wife. There are pictures everywhere of Monet and family members There are also copies of some of his paintings and books on the life and works of Monet. The whole house is decorated sympathetically to depict a bygone era. Claire who greets you is very welcoming and gives a short history of the House and Monet. This would be a perfect stopover before visiting Giverny.

Breakfast was typically French croissants, bread, homemade jam, cheese, eggs on request. and little cakes made from Monet’s own recipe book. As I am Coeliac Claire provided some freshly made gluten free bread and cakes.

I can highly recommend staying here. The accommodation is simple but comfortable and the welcome is very warm. As it is only a B&B make sure to reserve dinner in the local restaurant Aux Vins Temps.

Just beautiful at this time of year. All the tulip were out. But you MUST get there before the doors open. Staff were so friendly. House + garden are a real delight. Shop has so beautiful gifts reasonably priced.

Don't expect a good welcome from the staff, in fact the gentleman was extremely rude to us as we went to pay for entry. However once in Monet's the lily pond doesn't fail to impress. Trying to cut out the loud traffic noise of the road that bisects the garden. The shop was much larger than the house floor area, which gives you and idea of the commercialisation of the place.

First of all be there by 10:00 , the hordes descend soon there after. Many rooms were well restored, however the room with all his paintings looked haphazard with all the copies. But that was the was he displayed them .

We booked a morning ticket and arrived at 9.30 hopiing to beat the coach groups, but... they came early too! The gardens and house were much emptier after 11a.m. and once in the gardens you can stay as long as you like.
