Shallow, sandy and warm water.

Chandos Lake is shallow, sandy and warm water. You are able to walk out a great distance with a lovely sand bottom.

One of the most beautiful lakes in the Kawartha's , lots of bays, islands and plenty to see. Great for boating, a nice public beach, experiencing cottage country: kick back, relax and enjoy. A boat is a must to explore this large, beautiful lake. I would call it the jewel of the Kawartha's and one of the nicest in Ontario.... More

Its truly sad to see the way the beach has not been taken care Lately? It had once place to soak up the sun and kids used to play in the sand and have family bbq's. Now the beach has fallen from grace but at least they have change and better outhouses.

There must have been up to 15 cottages in the bay, so it was rather noisy at times, as sound travels quickly. We did manage to fish and kayak and towards the end of the week, it was... More

Majestic, great place to relax and forget the city life. Beautiful lake with breathtaking sunsets. If you do crave somewhat of a city life then Bancroft is about 1hr away and yes it does have a Tim Horton's.

Love this spot....great lake for all activities....boating skiing, fishing ,canoeing, swimming, sailing...this lake is big...clean and warm for summer activities. There are several marinas on this lake. There is an awesome beach with very shallow warm water....a floating raft and a few picnic tables for an afternoon of fun. Just down the road there is a boat launch... This lake... More

Full disclosure here - my family has a house on this lake but that does not take anything way from this idyllic place. The water is so pure and usually by August fairly warm. If you like wildlife, there are loons, ducks, other interesting birds, deer, beavers and amazing trout. The lake is served by a little town called Apsley... More
