Very interesting place to see and learn about windmills, survival and restoration of this one, and see it in operation (cutting huge logs with its vertical saw assembly)

So recommend a visit to this windmill. Staff were so keen to show us around the windmill and explain the working and history. Such an enjoyable and informative experience.

An absolutely fascinating visit. We arrive S a few Minutes early but we’re welcomed and treated to a brilliant tour by one do the staff there as the tour guide was still to arrive. Learned so much and loved the skill and craftsmanship across the site. Well worth the travel to get there. And wonderful views along the canal to boot.

The sawmill salamander is a wonderful working history site. It’s free to visit but well worth a donation for the hard work and attention to detail of the brilliant volunteers.
The opening tones are limited to Wednesday and Saturday afternoons but when the sails are turning this fantastic mill is amazing.
We visit often if we can. Every time a local volunteer shares their enthusiasm and passion for the place.

Only open for a few hours Wed and Sat pm but you can have a free tour by volunteers in English. Even the children were interested. Well worth a visit.

Turned up just before they opened and was made welcome, was given a excellent tour by our guide of the the windmill, of how it worked and what they needed to do to tread the wood prior to cutting it with the saws.

Stopped in to see how this historical mill works... Amazing engineering and history.... The windmill powers the saws and they cut huge pieces of timber. Worth checking this place out! Really enjoyed the visit.

Visited this windmill which has been restored into a working woodmill one of only a few left in Holland. It is run by volunteers and was an interesting visit led by one of the many volunteers. You need to have a head for heights to get up to the platform near the top of the windmill but well worth the effort.
