This site was included in the Circuit ticket we purchased when we visited the Roman Theater and Amphitheater in Merida. It was near the river walk, so we stopped in to see it. We really enjoyed it! It was interesting to study the layout of this Roman villa and see the various courtyards, beautifully tiled floors of each room, and... More

Having been a classics student many years ago I was fascinated by this house, hence my score, but actually I was disappointed to only be allowed to walk along the elevated walkway although there was a small of group of people who may have been students walking all over the actual house itself. Nothing much in English here so I... More

The archeological remains of the Mitreo House are really worth seeing as original pavements and mural painting can be seen. Watching the ruins you can imagine how the house should have been along Roman epoch. Worth visiting if you love history.

This is far from the other sites in Merida, and not really worth the walk. Plus once you get in the grounds and walk to see the tombs, you have to exit the same way you entered, so another long walk back.

All the Roman ruins are well worth a visit in Merida, you can buy one ticket for 15€ that covers the entrance to all the important ones and you can see the others on route. Well looked after and presented, unlike the town itself.

Honestly there's not much to it but digged up findings and graves. If you don't have time to do this I wouldn't bother.

This was cool. You walk about the actual Roman House dedicated to Mithra on an elevated walkway. The signage is awesome and informative giving a great feel for the Roman life. But the real treat is the shear size of this house - massive with the added benefit of this Syrian cult. Spent a good 45-60 minutes here and loved... More

Entry is free if you purchased a multi-site ticket from the Theatre (Pensioners with their passports get it half price). Roman remains included a good road and several buildings, some with black and white mosaics.

when people have money they could build what they want. A very nice house well preserved from the past and for the future. Really worth the fees. a little far from the center but worth the walk even if the day is hot

Everywhere else that we visited in Merida had information boards that included an English translation. This historic monument didn't which meant that we were not able to fully appreciate its winders. That said, the remains of this Roman villa were still breathtaking and hugely impressive. Mosaic floors so well preserved.
