Beautiful buildings with a small museum and shop. The areas open to the public are restricted so you probably only need an hour. It is worth noting that it is in a remote area and they don't have a cafe.

My wife and I recently stopped in Jerez, Spain while en-route to Algeciras, Spain and Gibraltar...After leaving our hotel we toured the city of Jerez briefly before heading off to the south and Algeciras.

We spotted The Cartuja de Jerez while driving and I stopped to take a few photos of the beautiful cathedral and its grounds. While it was not open to the public when we stopped there was a closed gate so I took some photographs through it. I wish we could have visited inside but we had no idea as to when it was going to open.

It was still worth the time to stop and photograph though....

it is definitely worth the approximate 30 minutes to this wonderful church.

there is plenty of parking and the souvenir shop opened at 11 am. no charge to enter the church.

Home to a closed community of nuns that are producing and selling pieces of art as well as home made marmalades. We arrived at sunset and found the sisters singing the text of the mass, the church was not lit and candles were used to read the sacred books... very suggestive!

This beautiful monastery survived because the gate held! Inside the monastery is home to a closed community of nuns but the church is simply amazing, serene and peaceful. A memorable experience after the hustle and bustle of Jerez

It's a little bit far away from Jerez. It's near Albarizones, rather. About the acces, it's easy to get there If you have or even if you have a bike, you can take the path bike. I like the architecture.

We were lucky to witness both a beautiful sunset and the sisters singing vespers, an awesome experience.

We came off the motorway at the Jerez de la Frontera junction and the Charterhouse is between the motorway and the town. It stands on its own. Both the Renaissance gateway and the Gothic and Baroque church facade were beautifully lit in the early evening sun. We were the only people there. The church was closed. We had just seen many of the Francisco de Zurbaran paintings from here in the Museum of Cadiz.

Beautiful building on exterior but a closed order so cannot go inside. Lovely shop where they sell hand made items by the monks!

This is old building, wich on first sight gives awe. Located in Jerez entrance from highway, you just have to stop by. Silence and high heavy walls. Very interesting architecture. Quite unusual.
