Just €2 extra for this guided part of the Alcázar and restricted to 15 visitors at a time. An all encompassing view of Jerez from the Alcázar to the vine clad hills beyond. They also showed how artists from Europe used a similar apparatus to...More

Make sure you climb to the very top - the view is worth it. A very calm and interesting place to visit.

As part of the Alcazar tour this is a must. The city seen from the tower is a view delivered with Spanish passion by the female guide. We really enjoyed the tour, the humour and the knowledge of our guide. Top marks!

We waited for the tour in English. Not knowing what to expect, we were taken up the tower into a darkened room. We were joined by a small group. The presenter was very good holding your attention at all times

Visited as part of our Alcazar ticket for an extra couple of euros. We have never been to one of these, so found the concept itself quite interesting, as well as the sharpness of the images. Our guide explained how the camera worked as well...More

As a fan of camera obscura this was a real treat in the centre of Cadiz. Our 'guide' spoke excellent English so we enjoyed a dual language presentation which was both interesting and entertaining. The camera also, understandably, enjoys excellent views across the city so...More

It's really worth going: it takes a short time, and it allows the full view of Jerez. It also allowed me to understand how Canaletto painted his many views of Venice: simply using a camera obscura!

Don't miss it. If you haven't seen one before you will be hooked and search them out for the future. Fascinating and great explanation and demonstration. I think it is free on Monday afternoons but it's not expensive anyway.
