Personally I prefer the low season in Spain, it's still around 30C max. but fresh at night. Low season means fewer crowds and no queues. Very interesting to follow the development of the old city brought to life. Quiet corners fountains and gardens, the walls...More

Alcazar in Jerez still looks very much like a fortress and is a fascinating place to visit. Get there at 9:30, when it opens and have it to yourself for a while.

Well worth a visit to put historical context to the city. Very evocative and you get the feeling of stepping back in time. Perhaps early morning or late evening the best time to visit in summer. The 37 degree heat of our visit was a...More

History, architecture, the physics of a well, a pharmacy museum, gardens, battlements to walk round, and a charming old mosque. We spent nearly three hours just wandering, and enjoyed it very much.

Even though it is really hot this time of year, we really enjoyed our interesting visit of the Alcázar of Jerez. Just make sure you get there on time, as it closes around 14.30 on some days. The castle is really small when compared to...More

I think we were spoiled as we had been to the Alhambra the previous year. Obviously not on the same scale. Interesting but not worth it if you've been to the Alhambra. If you haven't suggest you do!
