The Somnath temple is one of the oldest temple in Pali. The temple is a treasure for the locality. It's a beautiful temple having a Lot of peace in the mind. The temple is built in the traditional old style. The carvings though fading still packs lot of promise. Not a big temple but the temple howsoever it is .. is the treasure of the city.

Supposed to be built in 9th century AD at a prosperous place of Pali in Marwar region of Rajasthan in ancient India, it is a small but beautiful piece of architecture. Currently half of this structure is ancient and half modern, which was made to protect it from decay. This temple was attacked by many medieval invaders to loot and destroy it, but it has survived somehow. It is situated in oldest part of city and difficult to approach on a vehicle but by a small walk from Dhan Mandi area of the city. Made up of Jodhpur stones, it portrays the skills of ancient sculptures.

The place is so beautiful and kept so clean.
In the temple, we have a beautiful view of the city.
Another important feature is the shopping spots.
It lies below the temple.
We can find so many things there like food items crafts etc...
Once you go there ,You surely will feel like to be there again.
I can't forget my Visit to this beautiful temple.

This 900+ year old temple was actually built to house a shivling that was brought from the main Somnath temple in Saurashtra to Pali to escape constant attacks of Mohd. Ghajnavi. The temple has intricate carvings and is a feast to eyes.

We visited the A Somnath Mahadev temple on the way to Dilwara temple. The Mahadev temple hosts 5 lingas and locally famous for the pond that hosts colourful fishes. We spent around 20 minutes here. Wheat dough are fed to the fishes in the pond and a good time killer for families with kids.
