Amazingly beautiful place. The scenic beauty together with its flora & fauna are truly unforgettable. And ofcourse you get to see the now famous Leopards in the nearby hills during your safari.

One of the highlights of the Leopard safari at Jawai is the opportunity to visit the reservoir viewpoint.
If you are taking a morning safari, do insist your driver to take you to this place. The view from the reservoir is stunning and you also have an opportunity to spot crocodiles here. There are hundreds of crocodiles in the reservoir, and you can easily spot them. The place is 10 kms from the safari and generally the drivers do take you here. In case you have your breakfast/ high tea included in safari, you can very well have it here. The drivers always assist you with that. Overall a not to miss place in Jawai.

Jawai Dam in Pali is a real treat for nature lovers. Surrounded by big hills, it's like a giant painting! I took a boat ride and saw big crocodiles sunbathing – so cool! Lots of different birds too. The quietness makes it a perfect escape. There are nice Rabari people around, adding a local touch. If you want a break from the usual and love nature, this place is for you. Simple and beautiful – Jawai Dam in Pali is a hidden gem!

This place is mainly famous for the leopards, but I was literally stunned by the landscape. For the leopard safari, we chose to go with Sarfraz's Jawai Leopard Hills Safari. Being the year end, rates were quite high (4k for the 2.5 hr safari). But we were completely satisfied with the safari. The driver, Irfan, was in constant touch with other drivers/spotters for leopard sighting. We saw couple of leopards during safari. But during the halfway mark, he surprised me by driving the gypsy up on an almost 40 ft high rock (I wouldn't believe anyone had I not been on that gypsy). And it gave a splendid view of the dam from the top of the rock. Thanks Sarafraz & team.

Jawai was a great time. I have been to many leopard reserves and sanctuaries including sariska and ranakpur but not spotted a single leopard. I have been in jawai since 2 days. On first day I travelled across the road of jawai bandh and spotted wild cat and fox. On second day I booked evening safari 5:00 pm - 8:00pm. In safari I spotted a leopard cub at first then the safari cars stayed at location for some time and I spotted a leopard!! On the way out of jungle I also saw a striped hyena, python, crocodile. According to me its a paradise for wildlife lovers. In summer seasons you should take morning and night safari and in winter you can take any safari. After all I want to conclude by saying that jawai is worth visiting place..

Jawai dam is one of the most naturally beautiful dams in India, its home to such wide variety of birds including migratory and also to 1000s of crocs

Its a much visit place for a nature or wildlife enthusiast. Its a surreal landscape.

One can explore it via walking post jeep drive through farms or via jeep drive upto dam. Both are equally exiciting and we did both.

Being a avid birder, I had lot of fun capturing water birds

There are many hotels around but suggest to stay at Gurha Safari Camps

Jawai Bandh. Having being stayed for more than four years in Jodhpur, I have visited most of the places. However, Jawai Dam was on the list but couldn't make it earlier. This weekend we (myself with two of my friends) decided to take the trip.  We all three started from the Jodhpur at around 11.30 am and while on the way we took a halt to visit OM BANNA Temple. The Jawai Dam is around 150 Km from Jodhpur and it takes around 2.30 hours. It is situated near a small town called Sumerpur in the Pali district. This spot is to be visited mainly in wintertime. Built across the Jawai river which is a tributary of Luni, the dam offers an exquisite view of the river. Once you climbed up the stairs and reached on top of the wall of the dam, you see a magnificent view of the river and also wildlife around it. You can easily spot crocodiles and birds from the dam and the level of water makes the whole environment perfect for an outing. It is one of the vantage points in Jawai from where you can watch the entire village. You can go further alongside the dam wall to climb the rocks and have more pictorial views. Even after having such a pleasant sight, we could barely spot tourists there. Also, the place is more famous for its sanctuaries for Leopards, Birds, and Crocodiles.  The surrounding area having lots of stay options and the safari tours are operated privately here. If you love nature, must-visit.
