Koldinghus was built in the middle of the 13th century, and in the centuries that followed it was one of Denmark's most important royal castles. In 1808 there was a fire that left the castle in ruins – a romantic relic. Today the castle has been restored and houses a museum which is a centre for cultural activities and special exhibitions of international standing.

We had a two day meeting in this fantastic castle! Most exotic meeting rooms I've ever been to! The way they've rebuilt the old ruin is a marvel.

Unfortunatley didn't leave ourselves enough time to go inside and tour the castle . Walked around the outside and there were some lovely views overlooking the lake. Just looking at the outside of the castle itself was interesting.

It was a nice place to visit. Walking around and reading the historie, seeing what a remarceble job they done restoring it as it once was.

Very interesting to see how they have put in deliberately modern techniques and design to restore the building but keeping the 2 architectural designs separate. Aspects of the old history of the castle were interesting but also the Princes jade collection.(you pay extra) and the...More

Imaginatively restored castle with a mix of traditional interior spaces and some very dynamic exciting spaces. Beautiful detailing, especially in the modern part. Part of the exhibition was a little uninteresting but for an additional fee, the Royal jade collection exhibition was well worth a...More
