Amazing experience for the family and anyone interested in the history and past life of 17 & 18C Canada. All the villagers look like they really live there. Surprisingly, they still print using a very historical machine for the use.

We enjoy an annual visit to Kings Landing to view this historic village. We especially love the wagon rides.

Very glad that I stopped here with my family as we traveled back home to Ontario. As this was my first visit I cannot speak about how it was in the past. What I can say is that it is comparable to Upper Canada Village, which I have visited several times, with the difference that Kings Landing is less crowded, thus allowing you to spend more time speaking with the historical re-enactors.

Among our fun experiences at Kings Landing: My family saw a temperance protest against alcohol, while I had a beer brewed with a 1850s recipe at The Kings Head; my kids went on a wagon ride; I had a fascinating chat with the head of the general store about how goods where transported 150 years ago: and I chatted with a 19th century family as they finished eating lunch inside their home.

Speaking of food my family enjoyed our lunch that we ordered at The Kings Head.

The next time we are in New Brunswick we will certainly return here. This site is quite large, as our 3 hour stop was not enough to see everything.

After reading the review that said Kings Landing wasn't what it had previously been, we almost didn't visit. If we hadn't, we would have missed a very enjoyable day. There was a wonderful variety of buildings to visit, and the reenactors at each site knew their subjects and interacted well with visitors. The day we were at Kings Landing was very hot, and the carriage ride back to the visitors center was very welcome. If I am ever in the area, I will definitely visit Kings Landing again.

We used to love Kings' Landing but, unfortunately, I have to agree with others; it is going downhill fast. The staff are still as lovely and personable as ever, but the dining experience has definitely lost its charm. On weekdays, at least, patrons are no longer seated in the small, intimate rooms of the King's Head Inn, but in a larger hall that is more like a refectory. The menu has changed as well, and not for the better! Basics, such as fish and chips, used to be offered and were excellent, but for some reason now the "chips" (British for "French fries") have been replaced with potato chips! Really! What is the current chef thinking!? Last time we went, a couple of weeks ago, it was still advertised as "Fish and Chips," but we were told we could have any potato but. The meal has now been renamed, but still, really, if you want to be authentic to the time period, you should at least call it "Fish and Crisps," which I doubt has ever been offered to anyone else associated with the British Empire (and consider Kings' Landing's historical provenance) ever!!! The lovely salads, such as the "Jocelyn," have also disappeared and the menu in general is a pale imitation of what it was last year and in previous years. We bought a season pass this year so that we could walk around and drop in for lunch, but we think we have gone for the last time. This won't even make our season pass worthwhile. What a shame, as it was one of our go-to places! We are outsiders, but have lived in Fredericton for 33 years, have been regular and enthusiastic patrons, and have seen many changes - the most recent, in terms of the dining experience, are definitely not for the better. Today, for example, when we went, we and a number of others, were waiting until 2 p.m. to be seated for lunch as the restaurant was catering to a coach party. That's fine, but what an opportunity to open the rest of the King's Head Inn! In addition, the portions seem meagre and before anyone in management tries to defend this obvious economy in their mind with the thought that we are large eaters, we are not; my wife eats like a bird, never half finishing a meal out, and we are both more than slim. If the management would like to get in contact with us, we would be pleased to give our input to them privately as we would like this enterprise to thrive and certainly wish we could have given a more positive review.

It is always a wonderful day trip where we see buildings, talk with staff, meet the farm animals and enjoy wandering around admiring the crops and the peaceful surroundings.

Years ago I couldn't say enough good things about king's landing. Now its a shell of. its former self. Used to be well staff with bustling activities, family meals, and life in every corner. Each house was fully staffed with an entire family. It has gone downhill greatly since the Pandemic. I visited last summer and this summer with family several times and saw a dramatic decline in quality. It is rare to see more then 1 worker in each house. Music, outdoor activities etc are rarely seen too. The workers struggle to provide historical information if you can manage to talk to them because the 1 person is busy with the other customers. Several buildings had staff that couldn't tell us anything about the building because they were just minding the house or a visiting relative.

It is barely a museum anymore. 1990's and early 2000's were far far better with staff numbers, knowledge and life on the site. It would be nice to see it return to this.

An affordable and relaxing trip into the past. From the general store, to the printing shop and the restaurant, we enjoyed the interaction with staff and the food. Fun day.

Kings Landing is a gem. It is a loyalist village recreation put together from the houses that were expropriated when a damn was made on the St John river It is a working village and the people are in character. They farm, they look after animals, there is a working blacksmith shop, a water powered saw mill, many other activities. They have recently began putting some placards up explaining parts of the life, and a few buildings that are more museum like with people explaining the artifacts. Always a great experience. There is a working pub on site as well. It is a great family outing. Allow a whole day for your visit so you can enjoy it in a relaxed manner. Be ready to walk, it is spread out
