The bluffs are what you see on the ferry ride over to Block Island. Located near the Southeast Harbor lighthouse, they are a must see stop. Even if you are not up to doing the many stairs down to the sea, which means many stairs coming back up, its still a breathtaking view of the waters below. Do as much... More

Bring, or rent a bike, or rent a moped from Aldo's and tour the island. Go out and take a look at the bluffs; breathtaking views of the Atlantic!

Block island is a dream in winter. A quiet escape. The 1661 inn is very close to the ferry, close to the beach and to a farm. The island is perfect for hiking. Especially during the winter there is almost no traffic. The inn is charming, the rooms are clean, comfortable and decorated with taste. There is a lot to... More

We walked from Old Harbor which took about 30 minutes. It was a nice long walk and we wanted the exercise. (We're about 40 y.o. and exercise regularly). The views along the way were wonderful and it was nice to have the time to take it all in. We found it would have been too hilly for us to ride... More

Worth the hike down (and back up!) the many steps for beautiful views and a secluded, rocky beach. Recommended. And the nearby lighthouse is worth a stop on the way as well.

If you come to block island, it's an absolute must see! Watching the sunset was amazing. Wear shoes to climb stairs.

Block Island is beautiful, but getting around the island to see the beauty is not easy or cheap. So be prepared, know your physical limitations and make sure you stay hydrated. Mohegan bluffs involves climbing down AND back up over 100 steps on a steep wooden staircase built into the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Not easy, but what a view!!... More

Absolutely worth the trip!! Love the view from the top and the bottom. Lots of stairs, so make sure you take it easy.

Spent some time exploring the bluffs and beach for the first time and absolutely enjoyed our time there. The stairs leading down to the beach/base of the bluffs were quite a workout but offer stunning photo opportunities along the way! The beach is a bit rocky but still walkable. Some of the rocks are large and uniquely stacked allowing you... More
