Made a trip there for dinner two of the three nights in St Julien and loved to whole experience. There is a restaurant for every taste and budget, most with spectacular views of the city and bay. Easy, safe walk from any of the surrounding hotels.

A great place to eat the food is excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful. A good selection of local produce, wines and beers, never had a bad meal here. The restaurant is busy most nights of the week particularly at weekends so it would be better to book a table if possible before arriving to a queue on Fridays... More

By day it looks a little run down, but look past that as there are some amazing restaurants...if you like burgers..then Shoreditch..fab and some hidden gem restaraunts that are a must to try...then in the evening it turns into a buzzing night world...bars etc come to life...wouldn't recommend an evening here if you prefer peace and quiet though...

Nice area, with a lot of restaurants. Take care! Lots of cheap and tourist restaurants. Clubs, pubs and lots auf bars for parts people. In the night it can be very loud, nothing for families

It's definately not a place for everyone, and certainly not my cup of tea, but one thing you can't say about this place is the lack of authentic moment. Very narrow streets filled with clubs, bars and 'gentleman' places. Very crowded and loud, but definately worth checking out.

You have restaurants, bars, shops, beach. Lots of buses so you can reach all the island. Amazing for couples, friends, I think is not so great for small kids.

I think we counted 10 cranes across St Julian's and in particular around Paceville. The further you moved toward Sliema the less building work there was. In fairness the noise was only during the day so it didn't affect sleep. It was just a bit disconcerting walking through and under building sites as many of the construction is happening across... Paceville is the best place to go for a good night out, never been disappointed. Always cheap drink deals about and everyone's friendly and polite in my experience :)

This was a good area to stay in since it was cheaper and still easy to get around to other areas of Malta. It would be better suited to young travellers rather than families since it definitely has a party vibe (people drinking in the streets etc).
