Beautiful Park. Pond with ducks, swans and tiddler fishing with nets. Squirrels to see scurrying about and of course the famous train in Summer to give pleasure rides. Bowling Green and Bandstand. Illuminations in Oct/Nov. Fab!

Went here with the grandchildren last week, and was pleasantly surprised how well kept it was - and the play area was brilliant for the kids, as was the little railway.

We found this lovely park by accident. What a find! A boating lake, a miniature railway, childrens play areas, quiet. If I had any critiscism at all, it would be that the gardens need some attention in places ie weeding and trimming.

Lived in Sunderland since I was a child and there is so much more that could be done with Roker Park, the illuminations are always worth a stroll, but park could have a lot more potential.

Queen's parade is on the sea front and has about 10 places where you can eat (although some of these may only open on an evening) With children in mind, I recommend Martino's
