Unwind

A nice place to unwind near Bangalore. It is 4 hours drive with one break. Haritha and Holiday homes are 2 hotels, so accommodation wise it is quite average. A good place for photography.

Visited twice to this lovely and quite hill station
Feb 2020
If you are looking for a cozy and quite hill station for a day or two, this place is perfect getaway. From Bangalore, it is about 120 KMs and close to 25 KMs from Madanapalli. Though this place is small and doesn't have two many things to keep you engaged with lot of adventure or sightseeing but it definitely will give you option to enjoy the views from hill top, relax in a cool, serene location with a decent food and accommodation. You'll love the constant cool breeze and lovely view points in this place all through the day. What all do you need in a quite and scenic place surrounded by greenery. I have been to this place with my friends and then again with family along with other families. First and foremost thing, you must book your accommodation before you show up here. The best way to book your choice of accommodation is via APTDC site which will help you to chose rooms based on your need and their availability. Windfall Rooms with 4 beds were our favorites. Part of your accommodation booking, you get free buffet South Indian breakfast. However, you can always order for other items which is there in the restaurant menu.

Accommodation: These rooms, cottages, bungalows are maintained by AP Govt, Tourism Department and are pretty decent, clean and reasonably priced. You have hot water facility and generator back up. You can always ask for things that you might need and the staff are helpful as long as you are reasonable ;)

Fooding: In case, you don't want to opt for their dinner/lunch buffet, the staff can deliver the food in your accommodation as per what you chose from their restaurant menu. You can also get the raw material like chicken/mutton and tell them how you want them to cook it for you. Off course you have to manage some tips for the staff ;) but they were very reasonable. The staff associated with your accommodation will help you in most of the things. Apart from this, you have couple of restaurants, tuck shops/coffee shops around which are open until late night for any cravings.

Mini Zoo: This hill station has a mini zoo which you can visit with a nominal fee of 15 Rs per adult person.

View Points: There are 3 main view points available within very close vicinity of your accommodation. You can visit them during early morning or late afternoon to have a scenic view.

Adventure sports: You also have option to indulge in some adventure activities for kids and adults like ATVs, Wall Climbing, Zipline etc

Overall, I would say it's worth spending a day or two in this place if you are looking for a cool and a quite place for some relaxation with family or friends.

Nice, Quite, good for sunrise/sunset watchers
Dec 2019
We stayed at Haritha for 2 nights, so we got to see 2 Sunrise and 2 Sunset. Haritha resort/restaurant is ok - typical of any Govt service.
The hill top is made entirely of the Resort area only, and you would see both Resort staying tourists and day tourists coming for a short visit. Also, this hill is famous with Bikers.
Things you could do:
- View points (carry binoculars) for sunrise, sunset on all three sides, the Rocky side is good
- Nature park and mini zoo (dont expect too much, just a 15 min walk there)
- Adventure area (rope climbing, zipline, ATV etc)
- Fish Spa and Ayurvedic spa inside resort (charged)
- Swimming pool inside resort (charged)
- trek or drive down to Gangotri lake (don't expect too much, its a small unclean seasonal pond)
The whole hill top road is a 1.5 km drive. You have small petty shops and 2 private eateries apart from the Resort restaurant.

Climate was good in Dec 2019, early morning walk and the fog was good to enjoy.

The viewpoints all have way too much broken Liquor bottles -

Underrated Destination
Jan 2020 • Friends
Horsley Hills is highly underrated hill station. Very few tourists visit here and is mostly crowd free.
Pros:
Good for sightseeing.
Crowd free.
Cons:
Trek length is small.
Gangotri Lake on the way to the hill is unclean and not what you would expect from google search.

NICE TRIP FOR A DAY WITH FAMILY
Oct 2019
Good place for a day trip. Been to this place after 2 decades, and was happy to see the tremendous development over there. The Govt is maintaining this place very well. Good place for relaxation, rejuvenation, peace of mind and so on..... don't expect big expectations with regard to facilities "adjust, adjust" that's all. A request to AP Govt.Pl maintain clean and green near Galikonda, have seen lots of liquor bottles broken and spread across the place it is very difficult for kids and sr. citizens to walk around there. Also request you to expand the dining hall it is not spacious and provide railing facility at restaurant, view point and where ever it requires for Sr. citizens.

Overall expectation - Very Good.
