This is locating in the center of the village of Sapareva Banya.
It looks like a common fountain. But, you can see the steam that proves the hot water is coming out.
Good place to spend time since ther's not much thing to do in this small village.

When you hear of a geyser ,in mind comes the mystic Iceland ,but in fact the hottest geyser in the Old Continent is located in Bulgaria .The temperature of the water is 103 degree and every fifth second shoots dancing streams in the skies up to 18 meters .Coming from a mountain region ,famous for its potato production ,I was so tempted to bring a bag of potatoes and boil it in the hot water while wandering around the cute little town in the perfect company or my family .Life is so colourful indeed .Fruitful .Tasty .And hot 😜

The geyser is nothing special butbthe surrounding is most of the time pretty lively. Stop for a second when in the neighbourhood.

This has to be a joke. Or a scam. First of all, it is barely even promoted, even within the town. A few signs and not much else that somewhat point you in the right direction. But then, once you arrive, it is "under construction". What? it is a geyser, supposedly, why would it need to be "under construction? Gave me scam vibes like they were just pumping hot water from some underground pool. Don't waste your time.

Geyser in Sapareva Banya is a really very interesting fountain. I was there before many years ago and my pics are from 08.03.2014 when it was not working.

With the Old Faithful geyser, Wyoming, USA the pressure builds, shifts mud and eventually explodes. 14,000 litres are expelled in 5 minutes 50meters in the air.
This is 1/50 Old Faithful. -not even eggy.

The place has used to be really interesting as this is the hottest geyser in Continental Europe (103 Degrees Celsius) but the local government has managed to "break" it. After an unsuccessful repair the stream was disconnected and they installed a pump. But nowadays even the mechanical pump is not working and what you see is just a smoke cloiud - no water and definitely no geyser.

I'm a big fan of natural hot springs and geysers, so this seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately while it may be a real geyser, you wouldn't know to look at it. It's been turned into a fountain, with water pouring between three levels through holes that have corroded through the metal. The sulphur smell, while indicative of authenticity, is not in fact a selling point. The entire town of Sapareva Banya is pretty disappointing, compared to other towns in Bulgaria. The most interesting thing we saw was a cat that appeared to have taken over an abandoned apartment building.

If you expect to see real geyser you'll be disappointed . This is a structure similar to a fountain but with hot water. Park around it is pretty ok but again nothing really spectacular. We've spent there 5 minutes to experience this attraction. :)

There is a continuous flow of hot water coming from the "geyser". It seems like there might be a pump attached. I wouldn't go to Sapareva Banya just to see the geyser, but it is worth seeing if you are in the area to soak in the hot springs or hike around the Seven Rila Lakes.

How far for borovet is this time wise? How much was a taxi? Which of the Spa's did you go to?
Thank you

Hi. We booked the taxi at hotel reception. It cost about £50 return journey and the driver waited for two hours. The journey was roughly 45mins
We went to the public sarapeva banya. You need flip flops. There is a kiosk outside that sells them. They do not speakggood English but enough to get along
We did the full package- inside and outside and upstairs.
