Cevio is a very interesting place with an interesting church but what blew us away where the many little grottos built into the rocks/mountain overgrown with moss, the whole area looked like out a film set of the "hobit". The approach of the museum is popular history, giving you an insight into the various institutions which shaped people's lives. It is particularly good at dispelling the image of Switzerland as a rich country, pointing out that 32% of the male population of the valley emigrated in the 19th Century.

We were very impressed with the museum.Great location, very attractive building and an very strong collection, not to mention helpful staff. Well worth a visit.
