This is a great piece of working history which has experienced people to tell you the story behind milling at the watermill - and it's hopes for the future!
Tucked away beside the River Glaven, this watermill is a working example and you can see...More
Went to the water mill on Monday, just a great way to spend an hour, very interesting historical building and equipment. Tranquil setting to enjoy, although they weren’t grinding the corn as they do this usually on Thursday Friday or Saturday still plenty to see...More
On arriving at the Mill, we walked through the front door into the ground floor of the Mill where there were lots of people moving bags of flour and grain around. This is after all a working flour mill despite being 300 years old.
Popped in as staying within walking distance, spent an interesting hour looking around and the staff were really helpful showing us the workings and the history of the mill. Now just have to bake something with the stoneground flour we bought!
The watermill is still working (certain days) and produces its own flours.
Great restoration with a little shop.
The story of the mill can be read and viewed (TV recording on one of the floors) throughout the mill.
Guided tours are available.
We visited the Mill today and had a very interesting and informative visit. Michelle took us around the Mill explaining the history and we could see the Milling of the flour.
There is a shop to be able to buy the flour and other products....More
