Me and my wife booked raja ferry from bangkok to koh-phangan...all volgers in different vlogs share perfect experience with raja ferry. But i want to share something really important actually in thier tickets food and snacks(water bottle and one snack) included but sometime when they don't have much customers who buy their tickets for specific destinations they charge the full amount according to the services they offer but they reduce the comfort like in our case bus seats were really bad and difficult to adjust one person on seat plus there were no food inculded and it was a 13 hours long journey.
But while travelling back i took local bus(government interstate bus)from phuket to bangkok and trust me it was way cheaper(bangkok to koh phangan 500km, phuket to bangkok almost 700km) and bus had good facilities like massager in seats, food included, water bottle with snacks packet each passenger,it was on time and we reached bangkok 1 hour before the time.i tried other private bus service like songsern that was also really bad.

Here’s an honest view of my experience with Raja Ferry Port:
• Check-in was smooth, the bus or ferry wasn’t luxury but it was comfortable and satisfactory
• We arrived at the port in Sura Thani and continued our journey on a coach
• The bus stopped at a petrol station and stopped for around 10 minutes and then drove off, leaving us behind at the petrol station
• I know this was an honest mistake and I contacted a helpful person called Sunny from Raja Ferry Port who was was amazing and helped us so much
• Eventually we were taken to the nearest city, where we had our bags dropped off and were taken to our final destination
So in summary, the actual bus journey was not a good experience which is why I gave 3 ⭐️ because we were left stranded. However, my customer experience with Sunny was amazing and I would give him 5 ⭐️ for helping us out!

Travelled from Lipa Noi to Donsak. An old boat with heavy smoke. It was dead slow. It took around 2.30 hours to sail across. It was not in good condition eirher.
Would prefer to take Seatran instead of Raja Ferry unless don't have any other choice. However, only good thing about Raja Ferry is that it leaves hourly whereas Seatran departs every after 2 hours. Price is same of both companies 150B.

We rented a car and decided to visit Koh Samui. Getting tickets online wasn’t a problem however it never went to a confirm # page nor did I ever receive an email. I did screen shot the page when I was doing transaction which had a customer number . Ended up getting the QR code via line app (live chat and can take 5-20 min for response ) a lot time. They sent me the invoice w the QR code. I felt it was a little confusing starting over . We got to the pier way before the 30 min required time and got in a long line. We ended up getting on an earlier ferry ( hour earlier) which was nice. Once you park your car, all passengers can go upstairs. The ferry has RR, concession and plenty of seating . I bought the round trip but ended up changing it and extended for another two days. There wasn’t a charge to change and I did it all through line app . Again it took me 30-40 min waiting for responses and confirmation . It’s an easy 90 min ferry and very easy w a car. Saw lots of backpackers do it abs saw plenty of taxis on both sides

We purchased our round trip tickets online in Bangkok and flew to Surat Thani airport where Raja Ferry has a desk there.
Arriving at Surat Thani airport, you register with them and that’s where their system is worthy of an archaic 1920 third world country process.
They tag you with a sticker on your chest and give you a ticket that easily rips at the seam … All you need to easily lose it… My friend lost have the tiny stub as he was taking money out of his pocket and guess what… Even though he has his online reservation on the phone, the other half of the ticket and the sticky on him they made him buy a new one … This is robbery at its best - creating a complicated easy to lose system to punish the traveller for. This is not an ethical company and I recommend you all punish it as they will take every opportunity to rip you off.

1. We booked ferry and bus tickets from the airport of surat thani to go to Koh pangnan. The employees in the airport indicated to buy tickets from there. There weren't any boat between 13.00 - 18.00 so we waited a lot of hours . The bus took us to the port and we waited a lot of hours there. The main port (donsak) has a cafe- restaurant with hammocks and outside table - it is a nice place to relax (the food is mediocre). When we were about to leave we realized that the bus driver didn't leave us at the right port. There are 2 ports. The 1st one Donsak with the restaurant is where the speedboat leaves from Lomprayah company (the wrong one). So we had only 20 minutes to go to the other port (30 minutes away to walk there). No taxis were there so we hitchhiked with 2 good Thai people that went us to the correct port. It was the worst experience we had in all of our trip in Thailand.
2. The boat was really really old (like the boats we had in Greece in the 80's) dirty and a lot of black smoke went into the atmosphere. I will never use again this company.
In our way back we used the other company Lomprayah . It has new ships , very quick clean and very precise in their schedule.

A real ordeal this transfer. We already had a completely “rotten” ferry where we had to board like the vehicles on a very dangerous footbridge.
After that, a first mini bus with dead rear shock absorbers so a free rodeo game. Second mini bus, 14 people with luggage, tighter than canned sardines. Third mini bus, we are dropped off in a bad hotel.
Overall unfriendly staff and drivers, speaking almost no English.
Find another means of transfer!

Do not use this company, they are absolutely crap. Changed our Ferry time the week before and then when we turned up on the day told us sorry this ferry is overbooked and made us wait another 4 hours! I booked 2 months in advance, not even last minute! The woman just laughed and spoke some crap and shut the window. When we got on the Ferry it was very dirty and old. I also had a transfer from the Ferry to Phuket with Raja as a 6 hour bus journey, the driver was a creep and messed us about the whole way stopping to smoke fags all the time

We arrived and bought tickets for 14:00... The ferry itself was 1.5 hours late, slow loading and unloading! terrible service (no cafe, dirty toilets) the ferry itself is terribly old!!! I don’t recommend it to anyone!!! Instead of the stated 1.5 hours goes 2.

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Because this period is the monsoon period. causing strong winds Navigating in and out requires caution. May cause travel to be delayed beyond schedule.

I’m just putting this up there to let people know that they’re better off renting a submarine than risking their lives with this horrible, slow service. When we came to Donsak for our trip, first we got told that our 1700 hrs ticket was no longer valid and we could only travel at 1900. We did. Then, while boarding, like others mentioned, there was no space left between the cars for us to actually be able to leave safely - we had to cram ourselves through the back doors! I see some people complaining about these just being ‘first world problems’ but safety and basic considerations are anything but silly complaints. The weather was calm, no headwinds or waves, but the boat still took well over double the time reported and we ended up arriving at the island at nearly 2200, which made our trip a nearly 20 hour journey from Bangkok. The staff was horrendous, they had zero planning whatsoever and zero concern for customers who payed quite the fee to be on that boat. The engines looked like they were dying and the boat was falling apart (the seat I sat on broke, and I only weigh 73 kgs). The most terrifying part of this all was their disembarking procedure. First, we were kept around 100 meters from the pier for nearly an hour, despite there being no other boats that could be causing the holdup. Then, the actual disembarking took place in a very chaotic and unorganized manner and still managed to take 15 minutes. 0/10 would not recommend!

Bonjour !

Hi, I've booked an eticket via the website. Is it necessary to pick up any tickets at a office with our eticket? Or can we board the coach and boat with our eticket?
Written 6 July 2018
Hey, our plane arrives at 3.45pm. Will we make the ferry at 6pm? It seems to be the last. The transfer bus is scheduled to leave at 4.10pm.

Transfer from surat thani airport to koh phangan has 2 tickets with different price tags ..one is for 12.8 USD and the other is for 18.9 USD...which one to choose and whats the difference?

Hi Madhav:
When booking with Raja Port Ferries, you can book online. The price quoted when booking on line is correct--- and is often better than just "showing up"--- as the latter may come with a prolonged wait- especially if you are bringing a car.
