We had one visit Doi Tung - The Royal Villa, the resort is scenically located on Doi Tung. We can also visit royal flower garden located nearby. The weather at that time was also nice and cold.

A beautiful garden and museum in the mountains. Stunning views and an interesting museum of the kings mothers residence. Restaurants, cafés, wc, all very convenient. It is colder up in the mountains than in the valleys, something I really liked! As in whole Thailand the children are expected to be calm and not so loud, became a few "hush" during... More

This is one place that you certainly don't need a guide for. You are provided with an electronic guide that goes into great detail about the royal family and items within the home. My 4 and 6 year old also loved this

It is a fantastic place to know the history of The Mahidol Family and their contribution to what makes Thailand an Amazing country. Also to know more about the brave mother of The Late King Rama IX.

This is one of the most beautiful reforestation mountains and amazing/creative Thai gardens. These gardens have plenty and variety of flowers and plants found in Asia and the world. The story behind of reviving these mountains and one of the most successful reforestation projects in the world will inspire you and you will appreciate why Thai people so deeply love... More

The villa was used by the Princess Mother up to her passing-away 20 years ago, and is still being used by her daughter. Some parts are public and others can be peeked at from the terraces, which offer a lovely view over the gardens and valley. There are headsets available that guide you through the exhibit, they offer a glimpse... More

The Royal Villa is former home of the Princess Mother - the mother of the current and previous kings of Thailand. She loved nature, learning, conservation, and the people of Thailand. The home is beautiful and still used on occasion by the crown princess. The audio tour is very informative and allows all visitors to get the most out of... More

Mae fah luang is stunning, and should be kept like this forever in true respect for her majesty Som Det Yaa. The grandmother of the people, the mother of the king. The tour and museum explain what a great woman she was, if you didn't know already. What she did to help and change the lives of the people of... More

The villa has been left as it was while the Queen Mother was still alive as she stayed there in her last years. The villa itself is simple but it is surrounded by beautiful flowers, as gardening was her love. The Mae Fah Luang gardens are amazing, and very well planted and maintained to a really beautiful standard.
