We had a great morning eating and learning about the local thailand fruit at Suphattra Land.
The tour starts off with a refreshing tropical ice smoothie before a trip around the orchards in a open air bus with commentary along the way (only in thai unfortunatly). Was great to see the different types of trees the local produce grows on and how they are tended.
Not long into the tour is a stop at a fruit buffet where you can eat as much of the produce as your belly can handle- pineapple, banana, mango, durian, sala, papaya, longan -every fruit that is in season. Tour then continues through more orchards and stops at another restaurant where you can have your fill of some excellent Som tum ( spicy green papaya salad) and hydroponically grown lettuce produced on site.
One more orchard tour before the last stop at a bee and honey area where you can sample and buy fresh honey.
Price was 400 baht each which seemed a bit steep at first but was well worth it after a great morning and filling our bellies with local goodness.
You are free to wander off into the orchards at each stop for a closer look at the produce and you can pick ripe fruit from the trees if you fancy.
Would recommend a visit here. Mainly thai locals and holiday makers when we were there. Even though there was no English commentary we got the gist of what was being said and it was well worth it for the fresh produce alone.

This is such a great place, particularly if you love fruit. My wife and I went on a day trip from Bangkok - about 2 1/2 hours each way in a rented car. (Car was 3000 THB from our hotel.)
It's just a gigantic celebration of fruit. You pay 450THB as a foreigner to get in, and that gets you a tram ride around the orchard and an all-you-can eat fruit buffet, as well as a similar custom-made green papaya salad buffet.
The fruit buffet is a dream. You just walk up to the tables, and they have mangosteens, pineapple, papaya, pomelo, snake fruit, rambutans, lanzones, mango that you just take and eat. There's a separate Durian buffet. There's also santols that fall off the trees that you can just pick up and eat - not sure why they didn't serve them. There's picnic benches around where you can sit down, and faucets where you can wash your hands. We were there at the end of May - I assume there's different fruits based on the season.
As a foreigner, one small issue is that the tram guide speaks only Thai - and a little Chinese, I think. So we didn't understand any of the commentary as we were riding through the orchard. Also, having been to other botanical gardens, I was a little disappointed the tram didn't stop anywhere so we could get out and see the trees and fruit up close. It just charged through the whole orchard with no stops.
With this in mind, my wife and I wandered off from the buffet point into the gardens. Not sure if we were supposed to do this, but no one stopped us and it was a highlight of the visit. We got to pick fresh lanzones and mangosteens off the trees and eat them. Really unique, awesome experience. We almost got lost among the trees, but managed to find our way back eventually.
You can eat as much as you want at the buffet, but they also sell the fruit pretty cheap at the visitor center, if you want to take some home. There's also fruit candies and drinks and other stuff you can buy.
Though it's not the easiest place to visit from Bangkok (much easier from Pattaya, I guess), it's worth it.

This place is terrible. We paid 890 THB per person for the buffet, and only found fruits which you could easily buy from the store or restaurants with less than 300 THB. Plates were dirty and food was not fresh. They even changed you for napkins which I never heard any restaurants or food courts did that. No wonder we saw less than 10 people ate buffet there on Sunday 1pm. So, don't go there.

I came here on March 30, 2017.
When I arrived, the guide told me that we can't eat durians because it was out of season but we still can enjoy the rest of the fruits. Even we were dissapointed, we still keep our hope high and thought it's fine cause we still can have the fruit buffet and enjoy the papaya salad.
But the fruit buffet was disappointing, the fruit were served in one big table with lot of flies and bored looking staffs behind it. There were only mangoes ( some sour some sweet), jackfruit, starfruit (sour), papaya, watermelon and dragonfruit.
We only spent about 15 minutes here cause we were dissapointed with the taste of the fruits and decided to try the papaya salad.
At first it was great, the taste was nice until I found worms on the salad.
I won't recommend this place especially when it is not a fruit season. My trip here was disappointing and a waste of time (2 hours trip from Pattaya).

The idea behind the attraction is solid - to give Thai cityfolks and foreigners a peek into what growing fruits and running an orchard is about - and the tour around the farm was well organized. The all-you-can-eat fruit buffet was a hit, so all should be well.
However, it was a big disappointment to have to start the tour with having to pay double the entrance fees Thais have to pay. The underlying assumption must be that Westerners are dumber than Thais and/or that they don't appreciate the value of money. If I had been part of a bigger group, I would have turned around at the ticket booth as the prices charged foreigners represent a classic rip-off - after a long drive, you either have to cough up the dole or admit having wasted time.

Excellent day trip from Pattaya. The place is very close to Ban khai near Rayong city.the entry fee is 450 thb for foreign tourists n 300 thb for locals. A tram takes you around a fruit garden full of exotic tropical fruits like durians, mangoes, jack fruits, mangoes, rambutans, mangostien, grapes n other plants like hydrophonics, rubber trees, orchids etc. It also has its own bee farm where one can buy honey!
The best part is the all you can eat fruit and som tam ( papaya salad) served at 2 stops during the 2 hour ride. A guide explains the fruits and plants in the garden. The only negative is the out of the way location. Best season to visit are the months of April and May.

It is an interesting experience if you are into local fruits and orchids. Durian, grapes, lamjai, mangosteen, papaya, rambutan, dragon fruit, banana, star fruit and mangoes are just a few examples. All the fruit are delicious, sweet and juicy.
Staff were friendly and you get shuttled around the grounds for free to see the different fruit orchards. Unfortunately a Thai only speaking guide.
There are local bee hives with honey products on sale too.
You can feast on free fruit and a particular fruit that is called Durian. This fruit is really delicious but an acquired taste. It is sweet and creamy but very smelly. Most hotels and guest houses forbid this fruit to be brought onto the premises because of it's pungent smell. It is not a cheap fruit but readily available in season. Beware that this fruit is very high in cholesterol and if you consume too much at one time, there could be side effects.
Durian is also not be eaten and washed down with alcohol as I believe there are also dangerous side effects.
There is also a dining area where som tum (spicy-hot green papaya) salad is served and quite delicious. Very popular dish with the Thai people.
If you do order a dish, make sure to ask for spicy (hot), non spicy or a little bit spicy. It usually gets graded by how many chilies you want mixed in the salad...1..2..3..4.
Beware!
At the time of my visit entrance fee for Thais were THB250 per person and THB400 for foreigners.
There are some chalets for rent at THB1800 per night.
This is the official website but in Thai only.

Overall, a nice and pleasant experience for individuals and families.
Support the local industry please.

You board an open air tour bus and go round with a guide getting frequent opportunities to try various unusual fruit along the way next to their growing areas. At one stop over there is biggish area offering a big selection of fruit and you are free to eat as much as you like. To our surprise the tour also included a very enjoyable light Thai salad lunch and complimentary drink. Visiting Suphattra Land is a great way to taste lots of fruit which you might otherwise never have tried. A good vslue excursion.

We are planning to visit Suphratta Land in late January 2017, during the Chinese New Year. Do you have Durian around that time, in late January? Please advise. Thanks.

We are planning to there December next week. Taxidriver told us there is no fruit at the moment.
is it possible, no fruits?
Written 10 December 2016
I can't say for sure, but when were there, it's not the season for durian, and there were plenty there for us to taste. I guess if they open, then they will have to serve fruit buffet there.

Do I need to make reservations before going?
Written 5 November 2016
No, you just visit and get a ticket. The round trip is by bus and several busses goes around, so you just get off at a "station" and when you;ve seen and eaten what you want, you take the next bus to the next station :-)
