It is always wonderful to out in nature. The sights were amazing particularly the suspension bridge on the Piles Creek loop. It was a good hike which certainly got your fitness up. I recommend anyone going to this location to escape from the busy life and go back into nature

We had a lovely time when we did the Girrakool Loop Walk. It is only a short walk, 2km, and an easy grade, suitable for most fitness levels.
We started from the Eastern side of the car park, near the picnic area, going down past the big sandstone slab which has some Aboriginal carvings.
As you go along just above the creek you can drop down to a few different lookouts. Some unfortunately need to be cleared a bit so you can actually see something.
Really liked Illoura Lookout where the junction of the Piles and Leask Creek is located. You can get a great view of the small waterfall on Piles Creek if you walk down the Eastern side of Piles Creek Loop for a short distance.
However, the best, in my opinion were the falls on Leask Creek. You can see them from a lookout or walk right down to them. The wildflowers were just coming out and were spectacular.
We had a lovely lunch up in the Girrakool picnic area, under the close scrutiny of a Brush Turkey.

Do yourself a favor and investigate the history of this place. It is very special. You could spend weeks here and still find things that will amaze you and make you question the history you’ve been taught.

Do some open minded research to get the most out of your trip before you attend.

I have ventured this park from several areas and there are quite a few good spots to experience a good walk. If you're coming here for the fake hieroglyphs then you're in for a treat. They can be tricky to find, so ask someone. Access to the actual wall is not child friendly, but the park generally is
