I visit this place religiously once a year. Good place for long walks, jogging, with kids and pets. Deer of various kinds can be seen in herds and groups. They are used to humans so they don't harm unless of course you really bother them....More

This is to do if you are spending more time in Copenhagen or around. It is a big bowl of nature you can get from Dyrehaven, with reindeers, trees ... just perfect

No wonder all the guide books recommend this. The meals are great, the staff are lovely and we had two great nights out there.

If you are on a tight schedule, I would not recommend a visit. However, if you have some free time, take a bus and an S-tog to enjoy this old hunting ground of the king and observe beautiful deer in their natural habitat.

Just outside Copenhagen you will find this great park which is perfect for a weekend walk or run. Also close to Bakken where you can enjoy a snack or drink.

Cafe Dyrehavn was our favorite daytime cafe to visit while in Copenhagen. Went there twice. Good food, great drinks, great people watching.

How does one actually drive into Jaegerborg Dyrehave since today (was) a Wednesday? I spent a few days trying to search for details of how to drive into the park up to Eremitageslot, in preparation for today (Wednesday). The official park website says that one can do so via the Trepileporten gate. Trouble is this gate is hard to find on both Google Maps and the TomTom I was using. The closest point I found was Trepilevej, but there's no drive-through gate, just practically a dead-end. Left Trepilevej, and found an open red gate further down the main road, only to be chased away by an elderly local who says there's no such rule which allows driving through the park on Wednesdays. I wasn't going to drive through that gate in the first place - I was trying to check out the park's map to find other drive through points. In the end, left the place feeling very disappointed having not found the way to the heart of the park. In case you're wondering, it was raining all of today, and I was travelling with an elderly who can't walk much, thus the need to drive.

Hi, the right gate is Hjortekaerport ( gate) accesible from Hjortekaervej, but it is only open for cars on Wednesdays sunrise-sunset time. Alternatives are to take S-train to Klampenborg station and hire a horsecarriage... More
