The actual site is similar to the much more famous Sillustani but has almost no one visiting it. I went with a guide from Puno and we were the only people in the whole place. This allows you to do much more exploring. Similar to Sillustani there are huge funeral constructions, most are incomplete and are as the workers left them. You can see the ramps built to aid in construction. The tombs come in a number of designs with animals carved in relief on the stones. The stones were in several colors and used in a design for the tombs. One had huge red stones on the top, more of a gray on the base. You can see the rough cut stones separated by color laying in orderly rows ready to be hoisted up the ramps to be put on the top. The tombs are empty of course but the door stones are sitting where they had been pried out. As you stand on top of the hill, much like Sillustani, you can see where there was an ancient lagoon. It was a better experience than Sillustani, but I saw it first and was alone, so maybe that biases my memory.
Additionally, about half way up the hill there is a protected cave with really ancient drawing on stone.
It is easy to get to, has a good road and was about 20 minutes out of Puno. I spent the morning here and the afternoon at Sillustani.
It is pretty primitive here. No services, but no vendors either.

This is out of the main tourist circuit but you can get there in a private tour. As it is pretty close to Puno (about 20 min) it's cheap. I went there with my now fiancée and we were the only ones, besides the vizcachas.
Totally recommended.
There's also a site museum at the entrance where you need to buy the tickets.

A fine example of pre-Columbian stone work and architecture atop a basalt mesa. Fantastic views of the surrounding landscape, including the continental divide of Peru. Very photogenic and well worth the time to visit. We spent two hours on site from 8am in the morning and were the only ones there.

Monday afternoon our group of 7 was one of only 3 groups at the site, so easy to explore and take great photos. Bargain hard if you want something from the many vendors selling the same souvenirs.

This site it only 30mins bus ride outside of Puno and is awesome. Get a taxi to cematario laykakota and there will be busses waiting near by to go to Laraqueri. Ask a passerby or your taxi driver if you can't see them. Hop on and ask the driver to stop at cutimbo. It's a reasonably strenuous walk up but so worth it. The views are amazing and so are the chullpas. We were the only people there!
