Every time I visit Trinidad I must visit the bird sanctuary. Each visit is different and the experience is always amazing. To see the amazing wildlife that inhabits Trinidad and how they flourish is a wonder. The knowledgeable staff are always going above and beyond.

Took a private tour by Nanan's tours. Lester Nanan was my guide. Got me close me close enough to use a 400mm lens on most species. Extremely knowledgeable chap who is a keen naturalist himself. Comfortable boat and took his time to get me what...More

The Caroni sanctuary is located close to Port of Spain and not too far from the airport. Heading south on the Uriah Butler highway, exit left, drive over the highway and you get to the area where the boats leave from. The highway exit as...More

The boat tours through caroni are a great experience! We got to see snakes (from a far distance), scarlet ibis, flamingos, and even more all in their natural habitat. The boat ride was cool, perfect climate and it never got boring. This is probably one...More

Located on the west side of the Uriah Butler highway just south of the Caroni bridge, this destination is ideal for nature seekers that would like to quickly be able to take in wildlife from a safe location. There are an abundance of crabs, snakes,...More

If you want to see a Scarlet Ibis-this is the place! The tour lasts about 2 hr. The cost is very reasonable (60TTD=9USD) per person. It's a evening-catch the sunset and watch the birds come back to roost for the evening kind of trip. Quite...More

We visited the bird sanctuary using Nanan's tours. Price is $50 per person and kids $35. It's not exactly worth your money. The evening tours are the best because you would get to see the birds flying to go to roost. The boat is average...More

I had long heard this was a great place. You go in a small boat down a long mangrove swamp. The trees are very tall, with roots reaching to the water. It was very still, so everything was reflected in the water. We saw a...More

Ahhh the serenity... this place is so beautiful... nature at its finest. This is my absolute most favorite place to go especially when I'm stressed. Sailing through the mangroves, down the river to the ocean, this view never ceases to amaze me... I swear it...More

I went through Nanan tours. It was a good value for the amount of time and number of animals I saw. It is difficult, expensive, or both to get here from Port of Spain without your own vehicle, but well-worth the trek to see this...More

The Tour is an 'open and exposed to the elements' one.Its a 2 1/2 hr journey. No turning back.Boat is very very basic. The tour is great for kids over 8. I suggest you get a baby sitter for this one.
