As a tour manager, I have had the pleasure of this trip several times. I'm impressed by the number of birds and the scenery on the tour, but essentially the succes of the tours fall back on a fantastic crew. Every crewmember knows his role, and my guests have always felt safe and secure. This is an absolute MUST visiting... More

It is 40 km from the port where our cruise ship docked . Rent a car at the cruise ship dock and drive to the crab and bird safari. Roald Berg was the guide and owner of the operation - Stappan Sjoprodukter . the seas were white caps therefore he took us on the bird safari - we only had... More

It was nice experience doing a bird watching in the northern Norway. The ship was ok but good enough to take us to different parts of the nearby birds, we could see colonies of puffins, Eider, seals, Komoran, Gannet, Razorbill, Kittiwake Etc

If you are staying in Honningsvag ask your hotel to arrange transport and bookings as this experience is too good to miss! For over 90 minutes you are taken around the off-shore islands from Gjesvaer to see a multitude of seabirds and seals in their wild and rugged environment. The captain gives a good clear commentary of what to look... More

We took the 12:15 safari, that is also the time the people from the Hurtigrutten join ( 27 of them). We bought tickets an hour before departure ( 1300 nok for two persons) The tour lasted 1,5 hr. They have insulation suits on board, which was pleasant as we had a cold day. The trip is good, surrounded by beautiful... More

I am an avid border and came fully prepared with binoculars and gear. The trip is terrific simp,y because this is the only way to get to these bird sites. The actual guide was disappointing. I saw a number of birds he failed to mention. I finally just pointed out the unique species to people standing around me so at... More

We went on this safari (Ola's Bird Safari) which costs us 107 euro per person for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. We did get to see some birds but they are generally far away so unless you have a good pair of binoculars or good camera, you tend to miss the finer details. However the scenery made up for it.... This was a thoroughly wonderful experience both for the time on the water and the wonderful scenery on the drive to get there. The day we went the sea was very calm and very little swell in the Arctic Ocean. The skipper was very skilful and took us VERY close to the rocks for excellent views of the birds and... More

Olat, we can’t thank you enough for the recent wonderful Bird Safari that you took our family on. It was way beyond our expectations!! Also, it was so nice wearing the coverall suits you provided. They kept us warm so we could enjoy every minute of the tour. The water was calm and the boat was very smooth on our... More

My husband and I took this excursion from a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Arctic Circle in June, 2015. The bus trip to Gjesvaer from the cruise port was full of amazing scenery, and the trip itself to see the nesting seabirds was amazing. We were fortunate in that the weather was beautiful (sunny) and the seas were smooth. We... More
