The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is home to more than 80 beautiful and unusual owls and other birds of prey. Between Easter & September, we give three flying displays daily, each featuring different birds. There is also a woodland walk featuring red squirrels and "Meerkat Kastle", the home to our resident tribe of desert dwellers. Our picnic areas are scattered throughout the centre. Children are catered for with an inclusive play area, mini-maze, a free S.O.S. Safari activity with a gift for all young participants, and other games & activities. In addition we run a selection of falconry courses and photo days which allow great access to the birds - these are very popular with keen photographers. There is full wheelchair access to the Sanctuary throughout.

Brilliant day out for families. Brilliant and friendly staff. The Flying Displays are fantastic and the Falconers all have a great sense of humour when the birds won't play ball. The animals are very well cared for. This is our third visit and we loved...More

Absolutely amazing. Great flying displays, very approachable friendly staff. All the birds and other animals, meerkats/squirrels etc looked well cared for and healthy. Combine with a visit to Stonham Barns boot sale and the shops on a Sunday and it's a great day out.

A lovely place to visit. Happy birds and very friendly, engaging staff. There was a kennel for us to house our dogs while we visited (we would not of stayed had this not been available to us.) The displays were interesting and felt very personal...More

We picked up a leaflet for the sanctuary in a local fish and chip shop and had modest expectations. We left very impressed. We found a larger than expected variety of owls, hawks, falcons and eagles from all around the world with extremely good information...More

They have many types of Owls and other birds of prey in large cages. They also have flight demonstrations at various times during the day and the handlers are very informative. There are other shops on site and the parking is good.

Based on the Stonham Barns complex, the centre is easy to find. The main car park is only a minute or two walk away - disabled parking is available directly in front of the entrance to the Sanctuary. Despite it's name, the centre is home...More

Lovely day out, birds look well cared for. Falconers are knowledgable and very friendly. Flying display is great. Only real downside is that the toilets are outside the sanctuary and leave a lot to be desired hence the 4 stars not 5More

A well laid out site with several bird of prey flying demonstrations each day. The demonstrators are knowledgeable and skilled and make each demonstration both informative and entertaining. The birds (and meerkats) and well cared for. The staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth a...More
