This is a fascinating Church full of history and worth spending some time looking around. There is no entrance fee but there is an opportunity to make a donation towards the upkeep. There was a very helpful gentleman on duty who gave us a brief...More

Quiet and peaceful, but would have liked to have enjoyed it at our own pace rather than have had one of the guides seemingly follow us round. Burne Jones windows and an overall design by Philip Webb.

Lovely church with very friendly informative staff and there are small items to purchase if you are interested within the church.

We arrived late and by the time we had visited the Lanercost Tea Room we did not have enough time to visit the Priory! Instead we popped into the local parish church of St Mary Magdalene. The Priory is maintained by English Heritage but not...More

I wish we'd saved our money and skipped the priory-- and just gone in the Church next door--which was free and had a lot more info and an informative worker, and some splendid Arts and Crafts embroideries designed by Morris. Lovely church with great stained...More

worth looking into if you have visited the priory . It shows in someway what the priory would have been like with class in the windows and a roof over it. Although not meant to be a replica of the priory as it would have...More
