Travelling companion recommended a stop at Daniel Lenko Estate Winery in Beamsville (around the corner from Thirty Bench, Angel's Gate, Hidden Bench, etc.). The run-down bungalow that serves as Daniel's sales centre could do with some upkeep (he's obviously working on it) but Daniel himeself was friendly, very educational and obviously extremely passionate about winecraft. His tastings are free and extremely generous with no sales pressure. He bottles and sells a huge variety of wines and vintages. The Meritage was an absolute stand out for me, as was the Viognier.
Do yourself a favour and visit for a no-frills approach to tasting and selling wine.

Great wine and nice staff. Highly recommend this laid back winery with some of the oldest vines in the entire area.
If you're lucky enough to have Daniel serve you, he will be direct and to the point. He makes some great wines and has been doing so for many years. He can even tell you back-story of the living room/house that he serves the wine in and it helps to understand how this place has evolved.
His Merlot, Chards, and Gewurztraminer are some of the best I've had for the price.

My wife and I have been here before a couple of years ago and loved it then. We returned last week and the wines are still as good as we remember! His vines are the oldest in the area and the wines are top notch! No gimmicky stuff just good wine. If your in the beamsville area this is a winery not to be missed!

Daniel Lenko was once a respected name in Ontario wine. I am disappointed to report that this is not true any longer. I purchased over $100 worth of wine only to find that all but one bottle out of 6 were badly turned. The worse part of it was Mr Lenko has chosen to ignore both my emails and telephone calls . Our travelling companions also purchased foul wine from Lenko.
A bad taste is in my mouth !!

My husband and I have been at the Daniel Lenko winery many times over the years and always enjoyed having a tasting with the man who makes the wine and not the hired help.
Yes the house is not all wood and glass but the wine is great!
I just opened a bottle of 2009 Gurwitzaminer that was amazing.
If you are a wine lover stop here.

Daniel's winery experience is one-of-a-kind. Housed out of his kitchen, the experience is personable and you don't want to leave. He's warm and welcoming with a good sense of humour and doesn't make you feel rushed. His wine is fantastic too. A definite must for any Niagara wine connoisseur. He's a good source for information on Niagara as well.

Literally a house under renovation for a store. But the building is not the product. Varrying price points. Over all satisfied with the wines

Not a fancy winery shop, but Daniel is there in person to introduce his wines with great pride and knowledge. Lots of wines to taste and enjoy. Looking forward to tasting the wines we bought. Don't miss this stop on your wine tour of Niagara, and then stop in at August restaurant next door for a delicious meal or snack.

I enjoy spending a day with my mom visiting the Ontario wineries. This weekend we visited Daniel Lenko Winery in Beamsville and were pleasantly surprised. I see another reviewer mentioned the winery being too informal. We loved the informality! Daniel was extremely humble and welcoming. Pull up a chair in his kitchen and enjoy some laughs...the wine is splendid! We would highly recommend a visit. If you are looking for excellent wine and good local hospitality Daniel Lenko should be top of the list. If however you are looking for a stuffy formal overrated winery...keep driving. There are plenty in Niagara.
