Love his park and the beach. Just a 20-25 minute drive from Bellingham. Bring that lawn chair, grab that hamper of chicken & potato salad and plan on a restful respite at the beach. Camp under beautiful trees in the park.

Great, old state park. Diverse with more than a mile of easily accessible beach and uplands forest. About 150 camping spots, a few with filtered water views. Nice quiet camping, if a little pricey (thanks Washington state). One short but fun trail.

Great spot for a walk and sunset view, even in February! It was a bit windy and cold while we were there, but there were a lot of people out. Best when the tide is out!

I had seen the exit sign on the freeway all these years and never thought of coming over to check it out . Last week we made a quick visit just before sunset and I was stunned with the views alone ! We definitely have to plan better and come back for a day to stroll on the beach and... More

On a good day, you can see all the way to Mt. Baker! Lovely park and really nice views. Beach strolls as well as park walks/hikes possible. Very pleasant the beginning of October and not crowded on weekday.

Very pretty and a nice place to walk on on a sunny day. Sunsets are amazing! Can be very chilly windy and wet at times so it is nice to have a place with a fireplace.

I like going here for ocean camping, always clean and a lot of decent sites. Rates are decent and its quiet at night.

I'm already from the west coast so I'm accustomed to the grey skiesand rocky beaches, but this beach really took it to a new level. My first impression was that I was walking on shells, which I was. There are literally clam shells covering the entire beach, and where there aren't shells there's rocks (so bring shoes) My next impression... More

Typical Washington State Park. Some good campsites, some not so good. Pricey as parks go around the Northwest. This place has a very nice stretch of Birch Bay beach with ample parking for day use.

The park itself is beautiful, bicycle lanes for the most part, ample parking and beautiful view. The campground, while busy allows enough room for some privacy, clearly marked sites, restrooms nearby, fire pits and picnic tables. The only thing that was a drawback was the pay showers, 50 cent per 3 minutes...I just feel like as much as I paid... More
