Joined the 1st Mekaki Half Marathon a few days ago. A great run and well organised overall. Tough as the incline on the coast to coast run was high.
The beach and surrounds are stunning ... worth a visit for sure

Visited here during a scooter expedition around Sekotong. Just after the road to Mekaki (at the hairpin) is a viewing spot that shows the beauty of the beach from very high up. Worth visiting. The road itself down to Mekaki is quite broken in places and there is a very steep downhill sectoon so check your brakes! (We were 2 up and this was scary!). The beach is fabulous. Empty and beautiful. It was too hot to stay long as there is very little shade but the sea for swimming or fishing is fab!!

There is a great brand new road over the mountains to Mekaki beach and Blongas lagoon, take it for the stunning views alone, well worth it.

The sand is fine and white, the sea is blue, we were the only one there - well, beside two huge sea eagles. That was quite amazing.

I visited this place few years before. It was almost impossible to get there but the view and the beach was breathtaking. Now it is much easier to get there and more and more visitors go there. You can see by an increasing ammount of rubbish on the beach, which is really upsetting. I thing local people should charge an entrance fee to clean up the beach to make it clean again

One of the most beautiful beaches and bays I've ever been to. No rubbish lined along the beach and not a single other tourist. A handful of local people were around the beach but it was very peaceful and overall very empty. The water is too dangerous to get in as the current is very strong. The beach itself was beautiful sand and surrounded by mangroves and coconut trees. We saw wild monkey on the road that brings you to the beach. Local people will want to talk to you as not many tourists visit, this is nice but a constant stream of people joining our couples day out did get a little irritable after nearly a whole 90 minutes. I'd definitely recommend visiting here, it's truly beautiful

Rent a motor bike or scooter and zip over the hills to see this stunning beach before it gets "discovered" and developed. It is a truly unspoiled paradise! Be careful the roads are a bit steep and make sure you fill petrol and take a snack and drinks as there are no services or anything around just mountains, ocean and beach!
