A Stunning Underworld Experience, the Great Stalactite at Doolin Cave is one of Europe's most compelling cave attractions. It is a truly unique and breathtaking experience:- the largest stalactite in the Norhern Hemisphere. Doolin Cave has a Farmland Nature Trail, which is FREE for its visitors. We have unusual breeds of chickens, sheep, cattle and alovely pygmy goat called Minnie, with her little kid called Vincent Van Goat or Vinnie for short. We have also planted lots of native trees and shrubs and wildflower meadows. Our cafe serves lovely fresh salads, soups, breads and homemade cakes We are very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a Gold Award from Ecotourism Ireland. Hurray!

The hard hats are definitely needed as we have tried to keep the cave passage as close as possible to its natural state with visitor safety in mind. The stalactite is definitely worth all the clunking!

Visits are by guided tour only and there are numerous steps and low ceilings (hard hats supplied) to negotiate. The gentleman guide explained all this beforehand and was first class. His commentary lifts our 4* rating to 5* or more! The great stalactite has to...More

The stalactite is amazing but Nature decided that we humans have to work to see it and we try tell everybody about the steps before the tour. You certainly need to be reasonably fit, but it is worth the effort!

We went here on our last day in Doolin for breakfast and we weren't disappointed. There was lots of choice, the food was cooked perfectly and the coffee was excellent.

Doolin Cave is a small but perfectly formed attraction. It's about a ten minute drive from Doolin itself - could be better signposted on the way but you'll get there if you persevere. We arrived for the first tour in the morning and were joined...More
