About
To 5 mn of the heart of the old village of the granite stone carvers, the roman baths of Dorres welcome you all the year for a relaxation break. The source of sulfurous hot water goes out naturally to 40° in an outdoor space (3 basins and 2 individual bathtubs) with a panoramic view on the massif of Puigmal. The tranquility of the place and the strength of the granite will offer you a moment favored to get fresh ideas...

Too many people and just one small pool. A bit disappointed. I won’t go back again. Nothing special compared with other termal places in Europe

We enjoyed the water. It wasn't very busy when we went on an early July morning.
They also sell refreshments.

Allow Yourself to be close to the path of Nothingess being surrounded by the view of some of the most magnificient peaks of the Pyreness and bathed by the pureness of natural termal waters (36 to 42 degrees) feeling the watery liquid as waterfalls of silk embracing your being.

Lovely outdoor pools. One is large and shallow and modern. The small old baths are just a few steps away. We went whe it opened at 9 on a lovely cool May Day. There were only two other people there when we left at 10:30. Snow capped Pyrenees were across the bright green valley. The small bath is closer to the woods and we could hear the couckoos calling. The hours on the small sign leading to the baths does not have the correct hours. Check at the gatehouse for times. The little town of Dorres is a gem and worth staying there if possible.

The baths are filled with hot water that has a bit of a sulphur smell. However not overpowering. In the summer it is very full so not much chance to get in the deep pools. We have also been in winter when there is snow on the mountains opposite. That was a splendid view and less people there too.
We also went to the solar furnace on the way back home so it is good to fit both things in. It would be a bit of a long journey to Dorres just for the baths. If you are staying on the coast that it.
There is little shade so remember the sunscreen

The good: stunning views over tje mountains while you take a warm bath. Very relaxing.
The bad: only two main pools: one fits 8 people and the other one 12-15... So around 20 people can enjoy it at a time...so you can imagine it gets easy crowded. Probably because of this, they tell you not to stay more than 30 min in the water as "it could harm you otherwise"!!! Amzing....
Anyway, for 5€ s definitely worth to try if you are around, especially if you were trekking in the area.

hello, thanks for your comment. The time recommended from 20 till 30 minutes of bath is especially linked to the fact that the water is 40 ° and that it can provoke dizziness or faintness if you stay longer...

I was surprised at how small and few the pools were. We were there on what I consider "off season" and the pools were already full. The water was not as hot as I expected, either. Still, the price was low and the view was amazing.

We visited the Dorres Baths staying at the Hotel marty, they gave us a money off voucher. The baths are really interesting, they do stink of sulphur, but it soon washes off. We used the original roman bath tubs, up the hill from the newly constructed pool. We were promised muscular rejuvenation, in that respect the baths dissapointed. Though we really enjoyed our time there!

I'm delight that you liked your passage in the baths of Dorres. However, their virtue just stays one moment of relaxation ... :D

Great facility but if you want a relaxing soak then avoid school holidays if you can. This is a small facility and kids do not want to just sit in hot water - they want to play. This is not designed for children.
