After seeing the film accidentally one evening, I'd wondered about visiting Dartmoor Zoo and it just didnt disappoint. The whole story is incredible and Mr Mee has put together an amazing project that brings you closer to animals you just cant get to at the larger more commercial zoos. Dont read the negative comments, they dont know what they are... More

Spent a Sunny January afternoon at Dartmoor zoo, not the first time I have been, and it won't be the last, I have a lasting affection for this little zoo tucked away in a corner of Devon, every time I go I notice a few improvements here and there, the animals were evidently well cared for, and weren't that hard... Been here a few times in the past. We went beacause of Groupon voucher. Although when we arrived the voucher was not valid for weekends. Check small print as the next family in queue had the same one. The zoo had obviously had a lot of people with same issue. We decided to go in anyway. Its not bad if... More

Spent the day here with the grandchildren, it was interesting but such limited space. The grandchildren enjoyed the day and that was main thing but felt it was expensive and I won't rush back

If possible read the book "We Bought a Zoo" by Benjamin Mee before you visit as it will vastly enrich your experience. Or, if you aren't much of a reader, watch the film with the same title. It's Hollywood but it will give you an insight into this triumph over some adversity. The animals at DZP are clearly happy and... More

Had a really good day at DZP today, we had a voucher so was well priced also. On arrival we ran up the hill to make the meerkat talk, so glad we did as the lady that did it was interesting and allowed our 4 year old to feed them. I must say all the staff (volunteers) were amazing. Ray... More

Second time visiting Dartmoor Zoo. This time we held our work team building here in their new Attenborough room. Site is great with some stunning creatures. All the staff were lovely and thank you to Molly for a fantastic tour. Keep up the great work guys!

This is a small zoo with respect to the number of species they have and the items to see, but they are spread apart and the terrain is quite steep, so it takes quite a while to go around, and it is disappointing that many of the animals are not in view. The enclosures look tired and run down and... More

I took a Groupon voucher for the zoo a FAMILY ticket . now I admit I didn't fully read the fine print but being a FAMILY ticket I didn't expect the only time I can take my daughter would be during week days during school hours 10 till 4 as school holidays are excluded which I expected but weekends to?... This is a small zoo with a big personality. You can spend all day here if you interact with the staff and volunteers all of whom are more than willing to talk to you. There are public feeds and talks throughout the day. Also two chances to take part in close encounters and get to touch and hold all sorts... More
