This castle has seen its share of fighting. Must see when passing through Trancoso. Not much left except for its keep and walls. The stares running up have the dates mentioned in a ver special way, see photos. Wheelchair friendly.

Its a beautiful place with very few visitors - outside the castle, there is loads of grass and hay to sit on and soak in the vista .... we had a great time there.

Basically only the walls and keep are left. And the views are not that nice either. If you're passing by, visit it otherwise not worth the detour.

A really nice town fully surrounded by thick black walls, a stone typical of this area. The center is very nice with lovely streets and houses all around. The castle is also nice and free. What I enjoyed the most was walking on the battlement...More
