in the beautiful surroundings of the Dordogne river this very well preserved but not very well known little castle is ready to be discovered. It can be visited at your own pace, which I always refer, and good translations are available in different languages. The...More

This 13th century castle looks like every film-set castle you've ever seen! It's situated alone on the top of a hill with obvious defence in mind. Intact walls and a big gateway, you could imagine "Game of Thrones" using it as a set. It has...More

We went on a very hot day so the coolness inside the chateau was very welcome. The chateau tour was without a guide but easy to follow. Several stairways, beautiful furniture and wall coverings, interesting information sheet in different languages. The gardens are well tended...More

There are grander chateaux to visit in the Dordogne but this gem is presented a lot better than many others. No audio guide, but at the gate you will be offered a sheet with a translation of enough of the panels in French to make...More

Gazing over the countryside from the walls of the Chateau you could imagine how it was, defending against attacking forces with a majestic view over the surrounding land. Well worth a visit, with interesting, views rooms and history.

The chateau car...More

Perhaps this Château does not have the grandeur of some of it's more famous neighbours however it is a delight and the display rooms are very well presented. Will recommend a visit to any friends visiting Perigord Noir.

We had an early start and made a 9km detour on our cycles to visit this château and we weren't disappointed. It's only open for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon so check the times. There were only 4 or...More

There is no guide, but detailed explanations in each room. I understand you could have guides in other languages too. The site is beautifully kept and views would have been fantastic had it not been raining! The furnishings inside are really interesting and organised according...More
