I brought our 3 young kids here this past summer, on a visit to Ireland. I thought it would be a small tour, over in 20 min, it was so wonderful, so much to see and do. We really loved it.

Went to visit the museum yesterday. 5 euro to get in. mostly about 1916 Easter rising and ww1. Enjoy the trench, suppose to be the longest in the UK and Ireland, 500 meter long. Good fun and good value

We have been to a number of county museums in multiple trips to Ireland and without a doubt this is the best we have seen. Each person has different things which are of interest to them. This museum has a wide variety of exhibits and anyone should find ones of interest to them. We were particularly interested in the archaeological... More

What a wonderful museum this is-well worth the drive to Ballyjamesduff to see the very professionally presented content. As a descendent of Cavan tenant farmers who fled the misery of the potato famine by emigrating to Australia in the 1850s I found the exhibitions absolutely riveting, moving and educational. I would recommend that anyone who has a connection with County... More

Was a bit apprehensive visiting yet another small county museum but have to say I was slowly won over with the attention to detail and variety of exhibits. Loved the costumes. Also the outdoor to scale photographic representation of GPO and very clever use of containers to house a very good 1916 exhibition. Outdoor Trench exhibition also different. Staff were... More

We enjoyed this museum very much!! It was inexpensive to visit for seniors but top quality. It is in a former nun's convent with three stories of excellent exhibits. And to top that, right now there is a "WW1 Trenches" exhibit and a 1916-2016 "Easter Uprising" exhibit, in the grounds at the back, definitely both worth seeing! There is so... More

This museum is housed in what was a Convent and is situated up a small road behind the Catholic Church in the town. A visit to this museum is always a pleasant experience. Apart from the collection of artifacts on view there are regular exhibitions and talks. The "Trenches" which are a permanent memorial to those who died during World... More

I had heard so much about the Museum, so after visiting my cousin I decided to pay a visit to the Museum. After paying the entrance fee and there was a large map of Cavan County in the front hall. Kingscourt town seems to have disappeared from the face of Cavan. I went back to reception and asked the women... More
