Worthwhile!

Steeped in history, the cathedral is a must when visiting killaloe. Located right on the river and overlooking the twin town of ballina.

Worth a visit for the sheer medieval feel. The space is quite stunning. The newer part of the cathedral is disappointing.

A stunning building in its own right, steeped in history and it is easy to step back in time and feel what it must have been like to attend the cathedral 100s of years ago. I heard the acoustics were amazing so was delighted to attend the Mná na hÉireann concert as part of the Kincora Traditional Music festival last... More

Well worth a visit inside. Even though it looked unopen from the outside it was actually open. Give it a try!

This is a pretty, rather plain church. It does contain some interesting sites. We went to see the ogham stone. The old Irish writing is fascinating to us. There is an old cross and a beautiful window. The graveyard is rather overgrown and we did have difficultly finding an open door into the church.

The Cathedral has impressive front doors that lead into a stone-floored open area that is often made available for community events. Separating this area from the body of the church is a barrier of beautiful rosette glass panels seen in the photo above. It also boasts a restored organ and a resounding bell in the bell tower both of which... More

Graveyard a bit overgrown, however they are working on this. Cathedral itself was nice and had a old stone cross on display.

Beautiful church with amazing history and an ancient church on its grounds to visit in the centre and top of a typical Irish town

Visited this cathedral twice. Once on a school tour and the other for a ceremony. Both were fantastic experiences and the history of the cathedral is amazing. Recommend to go on a guided tour as part of a Killlalor/ Ballina Day trip.
