Step inside the home of Donegal Tweed at our Visitor Centre and Factory based in the picturesque town of Ardara Co. Donegal. Just a 20 minute drive along one of the most scenic routes that Donegal has to offer you are sure to be greeted with a warm welcome and an Irish Coffee at Triona Design. Our Centre is approved by Bord Failte and we offer a unique experience to all our visitors. Inside you will find a life size replica cottage of the Mulhern family home and get the opportunity to step inside and see for yourself where it all began. We also offer a Weaving Demonstration from one of our Master Weavers on 200 year old Hand Looms and enjoy an audio visual display detailing the history and heritage of Donegal Tweed. Alongside our tour you can pourchase our own Triona Donegal Tweed in our factory store and also purchase a selection if Irish Knitwear and rare Irish Gold Jewelery.

We visited the Triona Ardara store while on a tour through the North of Ireland. I intended not to purchase anything, but as soon as I tried on a lovely heather-colored belted cape-coat, I knew that it would be mine! Other merchandise in the shop...More

We went to the shop in Ardara and found the shop really friendly. They do demonstrations on the looms at the back and there is a full size weaver's cottage there too. The woollen goods they sell are stunning.

This was a very interesting demonstration. I now have a greater admiration for the craftspeople that still hand weave these gorgeous fabrics. Most everyone will enjoy this fun stop.

Went here with my family to get closer to our Irish roots and Ancestry. Truly wonderful authentic experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for some amazing clothing and jewelry. High Quality at a great price and very helpful family run business!

There is a big difference in here and handweaver Eddie Doherty not too far away in Ardara. The difference is tourist trap versus authentic Irish craftsman. When we went in, a clerk grabbed us to offer a tour of the full size Irish cottage inside....More

Very nice tweeds and sweaters. They have an old weaving machine that they use for demonstrations on how tweed is woven. Staff is friendly but not pushy. They serve Irish coffee while you shop which was a nice touch. Wide selection of wool sweaters too
