We were out for a day sightseeing, travelling from Killybegs. We drove west through Carrick, then north towards Meenaneary, then north-east via the Glengesh Pass towards Ardara. Glengesh pass was remote, quiet and stunning. How beautiful this country is!

We drove to the waterfall and decided to take a left out of the car park rather than a right. The whole road less traveled thing. Well...that took us across Glengesh Pass which provided us with one of my favorite views of my weeklong trip....More

We took this road back to Belfast due to weather conditions, scenery very similar to the glencoe pass in Scotland, wild and dark not somewhere I,d like to break down.

This is a very picturesque area of Donegal, and my rating is in reference to it's beauty alone, as I have to warn against going in bad weather. We very driving from Slieve League area through Glengesh Pass in February when the weather was more...More

If the earth's munificence is sometimes reflected in artistically inspired environs, much of the Glengesh Pass hints of a generally isolated cathedral aura. The variety contained within and peripherally is imposing; the road itself challenges us with invigorating variation; in its engagement, unforeseen stops for...More

Beautiful place to have a picnic. Fantastic scenery and photographic opportunities. Definitely a place not to miss when in this area.

On the way back from Glencolmcille to Donegal Town, we found it very worthwhile to take this scenic detour. Glengesh Pass is a dramatic view from a pull-out along the road, not necessarily something you would go to just for its own sake, but a...More

It was a mixed weather day but the trip to the top of this pass was very well worth it. The small cafe trailer at the very peak provided great coffee/lattes to complete the experience. A stunning vista!

We love going to places that are typically not on tourists' radar. Taking the road less traveled can be fun, rewarding, and less of a hassle than having to deal with hoards of people. The Glengesh Pass fits the bill perfectly. The road really isn't...More

Dear Traveller, it depends on which route you take. For example coming from Killybegs it can be done in say 20 minutes as it is all downhill but dangerous in wintertime because of snow and ice. If coming from Ardara I... More
