Like most, we accidentally ended up on this road thinking it's a flat, easy, scenic drive and probably a shortcut through but golly gosh, it was nail-biting. A section of this road is very steep - you won't see over the bonnet of the car when going uphill and will be petrified of how steep it could be once over... More

We arrive here accidentally, our GPS deserve a "bravo". The landscape is astonishing, but you have to keep eyes mainly on the road. (bonus: Mee sheep everywhere). The road is very good, even is no asphalt, and is very narrow ( a car wide). If you are a left side driver, I recommend an automatic gear box. Also, a diesel... More

On our way to Bantry House my wife spotted a small arrow nailed to a tree with the words Priest Leap printed on it. Neither of us had heard word one about this mysterious place , so off we charged. The paved road was narrow so we took our time climbing up the hill. The higher we drove the foggier... More

a really scary road to drive on, only one car wide, god help you if a car comes against you. beautiful scenery, the views were breathtaking, and what breath that was left would be taken away by the drive itself, definitely not for the nervous.

We found this pass by accident, winding mountain pass, high above the most spectacular scenery in Ireland, after about 30 minutes driving, I started to worry that we would never find a town, we didn't see any other cars thank God, because passing would have been almost impossible. Finally we came across a farmer with a couple of sheep dogs... More

We were directed on to the pass by our satnav. We were in a Mercedes Sprinter campervan. We had no idea we were heading up a mountain pass until it was too late to reverse. I was on the passenger side which going up has a sheer drop at either side. There are no railings, the path is narrow. I was... More

Thank you sat nav. What an experience! After negotiating The Gap of Dunloe and tired and hungry making our way to Baltimore the sat nav took us over the mountain along a grass centred road. 7 miles of a roller coaster with a blind fold, caused by the mist. Thankfully only met one car going the same way. Terrifying journey... More

Gps sent us on this unexpected trip which lead us over the mountaintops....roadway disintegrated into a one lane gravel trail for two way traffic, no guardrails, no protection from the drop offs. Fine for someone adventurous, terrifying and dangerous for most, in the fog, never again.

We were looking to travel country roads from Kenmare to Mizen Head. The GPS decided to direct us up into the mountains on a road that resembled a cart path. Mostly unpaved and twisting with no guard rails and steep drop offs. The views are spectacular but beware of the local drivers. They know this road and drive it quite... More

Accidently we drove Priest's Leap as the GPS dictated and what an experience. Such a remote spot with the most breathtaking view and the silence was overpowering. I'm so glad we were lead to this remarkable area.
