Lovely day out. Beautiful gardens. Probably would be heaven for botany enthusiasts but I found a lot to admire and enjoy. Amazing views from all the high points in the island. The highlight is definitely the seal colony on the boat ride in though

Garnish island is a beautiful place . It's managed very well by the Opw (Irish state body) there is a cafe and toilets on the island. Entry to the island is very reasonable and it's easy to pass a couple of hours there. Ferrys run every half hour and you see seals and Eagles on route. Very safe for family's... More

Visited for the garden mainly. Loved the seals spotted basking on the way out in boat. Short journey and lovely calm day for one who fears water!! We did the house first, our guide Maeve was very informative and obviously is passionate about history. She did a great job. Very interesting tour, so much learned of the family within a... More

Visited here when we visited Ireland recently. The boat ride was very cool and saw seals along the way. The island was very serene and toured the home on the island as well. The gardesn wern't in full bloom yet which was disappointing but it must be beautiful in the later summer months. We were there mid June 2016. The... More

Ferry journey over to the island on a sunny day, watching seals basking on rocks in the sun-what more could you ask for. The island itself is stunning and lovely to walk around.

A visit to the house when on Garnish is a must . Allow an extra hour or so depending on when the guided tours start.Recently refurbished in the style of early last century .

Fun ferry ride, saw seals and an eagle on the way to the island. Gardens offer guided or self-guided tours. Large variety of flowers & trees along easy to walk paths and lovely cement garden structures along the way. Several opportunities for bay & ocean views. Nice little cafe with tea & snacks. Also restrooms available.

This island is accessible by a short ferry trip over calm waters. It is a small and walkable island with absolutely stunning gardens. There is a nice little coffee shop too. We didn't tour the house because we didn't want to take that much time. The walks are gorgeous and some of the flora are from different parts of the... More
