It's not clear why this course is so highly ranked and rated. Most of the course sits in a low lying area to the interior of the actual linksland (rolling dunes) so there are very few water views. The fairways do not drain well so they are sodden and show the wear of many rounds of play. At least the... More

As a 14 HC, I am not a great golfer, but I do appreciate a good course. This course, I feel, deserves its lofty ranking, as while I felt it was not an easy course, it was fair. Additionally, it held no gimmicks, but was just a very well laid out plat of land that I believe many golfers would... More

The course is quite famous and was rated in the top 100 in the world on various lists in the past 10 years, that's why we made the long trek from Killarney. Driving there was the most difficult of our trip throughout the republic. Staff and service is not great. Completely different experience from Ballybunion and Lahinch. They acted as... More

Views on this course can be amazing. It's not a manicured course like many in North America but it fits the land well. It's not as challenging as Tralee but many of the holes are great layouts especially on the back nine. Highly recommended.

Played a round here after playing 3 other courses. All have been very good. The scenery was wonderful. The course is a little more wide open than the other three we played so far, there is plenty of scenery to make up for it. Our caddie was very helpful and we were able to play the course in about 3.5... More

My son played six rounds during the golf camp. I was able to walk the course and watch. Absolutely a stunning course, beautifully manicured, challenging with the fescue. Weather changes throughout round with wind and mist/rain. The weather contributes to the adventure. Staff super nice and helpful. Great pro shop and friendly bar. My son said the experience was "awesome".

Waterville is a little out of the way, but most of the coastal courses in Ireland are that way. While we caught it on a cool, misty day in late June 16, we could not have had a better time. Our caddy was spot on and the links were amazing. We played all the best in Ireland, RCD, Portrush, Portmarnok,... More

If you are going DO NOT TRUST THE GPS!! Ours had us drive over a mountain pass. One of our guys got car sick, stay on the ring road. It is 20 miles longer but an hour less time. Stay off that mountain pass.
