Expectations were obviously too high. Beer was nice, crowded, live music, too loud, too many tourists, I guess a must do when in Athlon but there are definitely cozier pubs around.

Love this pub. Drink always spot on. Even on a cold wet Feb Thursday, character oozes from this place. Not first visit & hopefully not the last.

The bar itself is a lovely spot. Real old style pub with great character. We moved out to the beer-garden area where a live band were setting up. The band were good but maybe a bit too Rock for my taste. :-)

Drop in here for a pint if you're in Athlone. It's a good old fashioned bar with a good atmosphere, good Guinness and a fire in winter.

We popped in here to have per-dinner drink & the barman (who we named Sean!) was so attentive and friendly. The lovely fire was so cosy. Gorgeous quaint pub :) loved it and he made a perfect Irish Coffee. Thank you

Hi Grainne, Thanks for your enquiry. On a Saturday night we do not hold reserve areas due to the size of the pub and the crowds that visit the pub on a Saturday night. We can hold a space up to around 6/7pm if that suited... More
